I just hate to lose a great in state talent. Think he would do so well in Steins system.
He would be All SEC as a freshman here. He must’ve got such a big offer that we can’t match! is the only thing I can think of because he would absolutely kill it here. It’s going to be hard to beat teams that have hundreds of millions compared to us having tens of millions. lol. Crazy

The “only thing” …seriously?

Well, allow me to suggest another “thing.” One program is a traditional CFB superpower that’s won a whole bunch of national championships and just reached the playoffs. The other program is a traditional FB bottom feeder in its conference that just had yet another losing season.

I don’t mean to bash on UK football, but it seems rather intentionally obtuse to suggest that money is the “only” reason a FB player would choose Oklahoma over UK.

Remember NIL? Basketball? We lose bb recruits to football schools. What you say doesn't apply anymore. Plus he's instate. We need to hold onto these guys. Landon Young? Dennis Johnson? Tim Couch? ring a bell?

Well it’s not the coaching staff keeping him from coming here in either direction.
That means it’s money. Which is the case the majority of the time. The difference must have been substantial but I believe he had made up his mind long ago when we had the joke that use to coach here. Now hes been promising them for a long time he coming. Going to be hard to flip him. Stoops never had a chance in hell to land him.

Good points and very similar to UK bball - unless I am wrong, the last national championship they won was early 2000s with Stoops? Maybe the name appealed to him and/or what is now known as the legally cheating $EC nil crap.

In the past, this commitment might have have disturbed the UK football fan - these days, nope. WS and company will bring in talent commensurate or above players like SD - of course, using the nil/tp crap, which I argue is in the process of ruining college sports AND ruining the pursuit of academic goals for college athletes.
