After Gavin just got that HR, of course I stood up and clapped for him. A state fan behind me told me that I should be embarrassed standing up and clapping for him because they were beating our *****. I really wanted to keep my mouth shut, I did, but I couldn’t. I told him he had nothing to clap about after last night and that I really enjoyed cheering for the #2 team in the country. He promptly shut up. So petty, but he had been running his mouth for two hours. After beating the brakes off them last night… sorry you’re dealing with the lowest IQ fans in the country but just look at their outfield wall. They’ve been to Omaha 4 times, ever. They’re on the bubble. This is their Gm 7
For us winning a rivalry series on the road?Hopefully, everyone on here won’t freak out…but I expect we will fall two spots in the final BA and D1 polls and finish #4 in the country next week. GT and UGA will likely both jump us.
You never know with the convoluted tiebreakers used by the ACC that put dook in the football championship game, but logic says in that 3 way tie, the only head to head among them is Stanford winning the series against the wolpfack last week, which should eliminate the wolpfack from getting the 8 seed.Any idea what happens in a 3-way tie with them, Stanford and UVA? I thought they were going to be 10 if Stanford won but that was when it looked like a 2-way tie.
What? Seriously, you must be kidding. All that matters is the series, which we won. We run ruled our rival away from home. We swept a good Pitt team last weekend but UCLA stayed at #1 despite losing one game to Oregon. We will only drop if we lose the first game in the ACCT.Hopefully, everyone on here won’t freak out…but I expect we will fall two spots in the final BA and D1 polls and finish #4 in the country next week. GT and UGA will likely both jump us.
I’m gonna guess that since they all didn’t play each other, the head-to-heads won’t matter at all. It will be some other stupid way to break the ties. ACC at its finest. You never know with the convoluted tiebreakers used by the ACC that put dook in the football championship game, but logic says in that 3 way tie, the only head to head among them is Stanford winning the series against the wolpfack last week, which should eliminate the wolpfack from getting the 8 seed.

First sentence. I think you answered your own question…Are state fans all just dumb? After Colin got hit, they said it was a strike and that it barely hit him. I just can’t with these people.
state fans never disappoint. They are what they areAfter Gavin just got that HR, of course I stood up and clapped for him. What are you saying? That none of the other relievers have been given opportunities to develop? Chewie and Seagraves have appeared in 14 games, Padgett in 16, Flannery 12, Rose 16, and Matthijs in 21 games. They've all been effective at times but they've all struggled at times. They've all had significant opportunities to carve out a role in the pen but because of those inconsistencies, they aren't quick calls out of the pen after Glauber and McDuffie. And when you don’t develop other arms, now we’re here.
thank youWhat are you saying? That none of the other relievers have been given opportunities to develop? They been well coached, they know what they are supposed to do when they go into a game and they know what is expected of them. There are no cheat codes to make a pitcher perform on demand; it is on them to apply what they've been taught to do and to give their coaches a reason to go to them in key situations.
Unreal fanbase I really think they are absolute garbage in every aspectI can’t deal with these fans. There were two little boys that were state fans right beside me that were asking our boys for a ball. Sweet kids though. They asked me if I thought one of our players would toss them a ball, but I said I had no clue. I said that since we lost, they might just want to get back to Chapel Hill. I then told them good game. The dad then told his son that waiting around was stupid because all he should do is laugh at us since we’re a bunch of losers. I just can’t with this fanbase.
Nah, I disagree with you. I don’t like stooping to their level unless it gets really bad. That’s what they want us to do. Me not saying anything for the first six innings while they ran their mouths ***** them off. It wasn’t until it got really bad that I started talking back. I have three kids, and I would be pretty angry if anyone questioned my parenting. I’m not perfect though! When the dad told his son that he should laugh at us because we were a bunch of losers, I did tell him that I wasn’t shocked that a state fan was such a failure at being a parent, and that if he looked in the mirror then he would see who the real loser was. I did feel a little bad stooping to his level, but he ran his mouth for two hours. All the whining about state fans is comical. Give them the same attitude they give you and usually they’ll shut up. Ask them what year did they get rejected from Carolina. If your beer happens to spill a little into their lap, that’s okay too. We whine about them, but give them some crap too. This holier than thou nonsense is why our fanbase is soft and our stadiums get taken over by other fans.
When they go low we kick em. Growing up in Raleigh as a Tar Heel made me hate them. I enjoy treating their fans like the subhuman trash that they are.Nah, I disagree with you. Also, how hard is it to say Jake’s name correctly? The announcer said his last name incorrectly the entire weekend!
100 %May not be a bad thing. You hate to lose, but let this squad sit with it for a few days.
This squad is still who they’ve been all year, and that’s elite. One tough 8 innings doesn’t change that.
It’s brutal over there, to say the least. No matter what the sport. It’s like Carolina Blue triggers something sinister and evil. Same at ECU.I’ll never go back to Raleigh for a game, in any sport.
Now do the appearances for McDuffie and Glauber. Less than 20 appearances in almost 60 games. Now breakdown which games they pitched in.What are you saying? That none of the other relievers have been given opportunities to develop? Chewie and Seagraves have appeared in 14 games, Padgett in 16, Flannery 12, Rose 16, and Matthijs in 21 games. They've actually been given more opportunities than I realized but Seagraves and Flannery still average a BB/inning. No head coach is taking that chance in a tight game. Padgett runs extremely hot and extremely cold, often in the same inning with a tendency towards giving up the long ball--not an option in a close game. Chewie is somewhat of a situational lefty and has been effective in that role. Both Matthijs and Rose have been very effective at times but sometimes we have to hold our breath, too. They haven't given the coaches the confidence to go to them instinctively.
All have been well coached, they know what they are supposed to do when they go into a game, and they know what is expected of them. There are no cheat codes to make a pitcher perform on demand; it is on them to apply what they've been taught to do and to give their coaches a reason to go to them in key situations.
