Game 1 is tonight at 6pm on ACC Network Extra. Virginia is 23rd in the RPI, UofL 90th. The Cards are currently 11th in the ACC standings and could pass Virginia (and possibly 3 other teams) in the standings with a sweep. Getting into the top 8 would give us a single round bye in the ACC tournament.

Cards with a great start here in game 2. 3 runs on 4 hits in the first and 3 more runs on 3 more hits in the 2nd. Colton Hartman pitches 3 scoreless innings as the Cards lead 6-0.

Of note is that Eberle started game 1 and Hartman has gotten the start in game 2. Notably absent from the starting lineup is our usual Friday starter Wyatt Danilowicz, who went out of last Thursday’s game with an injury. An already depleted pitching roster just got a lot thinner.

Last home game of the year today! Game 3 will be at 1230pm ET on ACC Network Extra. With Danilowicz injured, who gets the start? Maybe Jake Schweitzer. Can the Cards get another series win?

Pitching was a little wobbly there in the 8th, giving up 5 runs. But the Cards scored 3 of their own in the bottom of the 8th and held on 10-5 for the series win. Always nice to win the last home game of the season!
