I like his confidence. But at this point it is just off season pep rally kind of talk. I think our offense will be better this year, but how much better? And can our new running QB stay healthy? The bigger question is the defensive line. It was a historically terrible line last year and our portal additions were just “ok”. They mostly just added depth but did not really raise the talent bar much. That is why I am still pessimistic for this season. Don’t see our defense being all that good again this year.

No doubt, he’s going to see better defensive talent which can inflict pain. I didn’t see him trying to run like a running back in any of his clips though. He’s stayed healthy last year in a reasonably good conference. Seems smart and quick enough to avoid hits. His game seems similar to Ganz.

As to the defensive line, some of that problem was scheme. I’m HOPING Aurich’s scheme gives our front 6-7 a better chance of being successful. Probably my biggest concern is the learning curve in switching to another new scheme. Fingers crossed. Looking forward to another fall of Husker football. It’s not life or death.
