Interesting fact?

I have not researched it but my golf buddy told me that all four of Nebraska head football coaches prior to Rhule - Callahan, Pelini, Reilly, and Frost - all 4 were fired within one year after signing contract extensions.

The Huskers have been blessed with a decades long string of incompetent AD bozos that’s for sure.

Furthermore, in keeping with tradition, if Rhule is fired after next season, he will be owed almost double what was paid to buyout the previous 4 coaches combined!

My sympathies, sir.

I heard they lost their spring scrimmage.

They'll go 8-4 with losses to Indiana, Oregon or Washington, Ohio State, and Iowa, for their best record in a decade. Rhule will get another extension to not go to another school that wouldn't hire him and peak at 7-5 for 3 years, then get fired with a $75 million buyout. BAU.

i feel like folks here could be prematurely dismissing rhule’s coaching prowess. he’s taken them from 3-5 win seasons to 7-8 wins which is a substantial leap

Nebraska record:
2023: 5-7, 3-6
2024: 7-6, 3-6
2025: 7-6, 4-5
2-10 in November games

Yeah, everyone is selling him short. He’s a fraud of a coach.
they went 3-9 and 4-8 before rhule, that's 7 wins total in 2 years. after a gap year to settle down, he literally doubled their wins with 14 over the last 2 years.

They had such a weak schedule last year that set up perfectly with 3 of 4 toughest (@psu) at home and could still only manage 7 wins. On top of them being the ones to cancel games for last and this yr vs Tenn.

Throw in more difficult schedule with Johnson who was their offense plus even losing railoa who is a douche but most talented guy they’ve had in years under center I don’t see them improving at all.

i don’t expect them to reach upper level b1g, they likely are at their long term equilibrium point. but rhule was the guy that lifted them off the bottom of barrel

This guy was born in Omaha a long time ago, taught and coached at Scottsbluff for a couple of years and helped out with Mens basketball at Chadron State for a short time. Will NEVER root for Nebraska!

Never post here, making an exception to urge you all. to keep churning out the stuff about Nebraska. I love reading this gloriously pathetic ****. Nine wins in 10 years, no end in sight, seemingly nothing left to prove, and the fanbase is still obsessed with Nebraska. It’s like 1988 Husker fans puffing out their chests en masse over dominating KU. Never change!

thanks but whether you post much or not is immaterial when you are a self admitted frequent reader of this thread and hence more obsessed about iowa than the average poster here is about nebraska. we are basically only lounging at home while you traverse here and got excited enough to post. that said i for sure enjoy some ribbing from rivals, no issues

I am obsessed — great diagnosis. The thing is I admire the team and program you have over there. They do things the right way and value continuity. Still remember fondly the time they handed Urban Meyer his ***, 55-17 or whatever. I also remember the last decade of expecting the worst on Black Friday, then finding out I’d still been too optimistic. Cheers
