Not so much Papa John’s but a large late additional influx from Katy Schneider. This is their one shot, they won’t spend half as much next year and with the current roster they will lose 10+ games again IMO.
Thank you! I've been trying to tell folks this. A family friend does business with the Schneider family and gave me some insight into their recent NIL donations. UL athletics is loaded at the moment and probably foreseeable future.

I heard they gave 60 million earmarked for the football and basketball program. That’s scuttlebutt but came from people I find highly reliable.

Milcovic is not enough to make any team a contender by himself. If so, Iowa State would have been better last year.
There needs to be good talent around him.
So are you saying that UK doesn’t have good enough talent right now and he wouldn’t make a difference? There’s not a single player out there good enough to carry a team by their self.

Norlander said in a podcast this afternoon that Milan should drive at least $5 million, possibly up to $6 or 7M to return to school. Sooo it's going to take Stokes money to get him it appears.

He also said he puts Moreno returning at 75 percent.

Screw Goodman. He's a UK troll ( if not simply a closet UK hater - i lean towards that)
- always has been - always will be.

I don't listen to or read anything he says, except what gets regurgitated here.

He intentionally left out even mentioning Kentucky - its a backhanded slap in the face when he damn well knows it is between Uk and UofL.

He can go piss off

Goodman is wrong on that,he said he is not going for a money grab,he said he'll probably stay in the draft
He can say anything he wants. His agent will 10,000% want the biggest contract he can possibly get. That’s why he was hired ! If not, he’s not doing his job. If it’s within a reasonable amount, then maybe it’ll be a decision about fit and coach.

Kentucky, St. John’s, and Louisville are reportedly in the mix, all eager to spend big money for the top shooter in the transfer portal. Momcilovic said the fit, not the money, is what is most important to him should he return to school. Ben Roberts of the Herald Leader made the trip to Chicago to speak to Momcilovic and Kentucky’s participants in the combine. Roberts said the buzz at the combine is that Louisville is considered the most likely landing spot for Momcilovic, with St. John’s currently running third.

Don't do us any good to come in second

Which mindset works best with 26 losses and subpar recruiting, going into year 3? I mean, I want to believe. Just give me something, Mark.
I have provided considerable perspective with multiple posts and threads to give you reason to execute some patience and have a little hope if you actually do want to believe.

Idk whether the Stokes money thing is true but, I wish some of our fans/insiders would stop floating numbers out there hypothetical or not. It just gives other programs a chance to counter offer. Jmo

Louisville has Papa John throwing 30 million dollars minimum into their NIL war chest. You ever been to Louisville? You think these kids are going there for the beer cheese? It’s straight simple. Duke, Louisville, Indiana in football, they have big money backing them and we don’t. I just saw a report today we are 9th in SEC in raising funds. No way to compete against that. These cat was never coming here. He’s going where the money is, simple.
The whole thing is out of control/ridiculous. Feds need to step in and and regulate.

And to think; the NCAA could have prevented this altogether with some proactive reforms.

Idiots.

We need to make Elon Musk a Kentucky fan and donor. He could easily load us up for two decades of enough money to win everything.

Well then we should have the capital to sign him as long as the donors who put up the Stokes money ok it. Get Nike to offer a similar deal to help again.

Ever since that Tay kinney in house visit altercation Kelsey has owned Pope. Still would like to know the real story.
The story that I believe to be true is they were supposed to meet the kid- Pope was first then Kelsey later. Pope was late and Kelsey was there early so they went ahead and met with Kelsey. When Pope got there he didn't like that.

Hated Tennessee fan here, but born and raised in the Bluegrass. I am from a Southern KY border county and was right on the Tennessee line. Do not hold it against me too bad.

My question is, where in the heck is Louisville getting all this money? We are hearing rumors around our program that we spent $18MM this portal season. We are also pretty solid at all sports, but football rosters are going to take up closer to $40-50 million to be competitive. Where is Louisville getting this unlimited bankroll for just basketball? We have completely dominated them the past 2 seasons under PK. I am amazed that someone is putting this much money into a product that the coach has no chance of going past the Sweet 16. If they add Momcilovic, that would have to put them in the $30mm portal range minimum. I would take Tennessee's class over theirs at this moment, but if they land this guy, they might truly be all in for one season. I understand somewhere like Texas Tech with oil money, but what am I missing on Louisville and their unlimited funds? Even if YUM Brands and Glow Brands are helping fund some of the NIL, I still do not see a reputable company being able to sustain that large of a budget yearly without any ROI.
