Jayden James vs. Quincy Monday

Both wrestlers try early low shots and each kicks away from the other. James is now in on a single Monday can' sprawl away from, and Monday turns in with James pushing forward before a stalemate is called a minute in. James is back in on Monday's left leg and Monday is now going over James and scrambling as James tries to come around and they go flying off the mat as James gets two exposure for a 2-0 lead. James is now circling on a high shot but Monday drops and gets his right leg and drives forward and on the edge gets a takedown to tie this match at two.

The final three minutes are underway. James has an underhook but Monday answers with a bodylock and then James drops on a single and ties to drop in behind but they break apart before that happens and it leads to Monday going on the shot clock with 2:14 to go. Monday does not score. It's 3-2 James with 1:40 to go. Monday dives in on a hard double and Jayden James somehow voids it but onday shoots in on a body lock as James tries to avoid giving up the takedown. Monday gets a lace in and it results in four and a 6-3 lead for Quincy Monday with 53 seconds left. James does get one back and it's 6-4 with 43 seconds left. Refs are now meeting about whether or not that was a four-point move. After discussion, the score ends up being 4-4. On the restart James shoots in and turns Monday toward his back and decks him for the fall. Wow.

James over Monday by fall 5:37.

Penn State goes two for two in the championship semifinals

Zain Retherford and Jayden James will wrestle for a spot in Final X in the 70 and 74 kilogram World Team Trials, respectively, on Friday. Both won their semis on Thursday afternoon. James did so in dramatic fashion. Trailing former Princeton All-American Quincy Monday on criteria, 4-4, with less than a minute to wrestle, he locked up a fall off the restart to deck his foe in 5:37. Retherford, meanwhile, beat Oklahoma State's Landon Robideau 3-2.

Retherford will face Virginia Tech's Caleb Henson in the finals on Friday afternoon. James will face David Carr, who was a 6-5 winner over Evan Wick in the other 74kg semi.

A recap of both match is below. Up next in this session is consolation quarterfinals for Joe Sealey and Cole Mirasola at 74 and 125 kilograms, respectively.

Fine. No more pbp for me.
Have you actually followed Slippery (or anyone's) PBP during a big match or event that is not during the work day that has minimal people on here?

Sometimes there is like 50 posts between the start of the match and the conclusion. You want everyone to just stay off their keyboards so as to not "spoil" your reading of the PBP from start to finish?????

I'll give you a hint - just stay on the post and keep hitting F5 like you're Mark Zuckerberg...you don't need to read the posts below it.

A lot of misplaced disdain for Robideau based on the ref hosing Duke.
The "Rope-a-dope" moniker was out there before NCAAs.

NCAAs was riddled with finger grabbing and other stalling tactics. Robideau was not the only offender but was clearly one, and has done little to dispel that notion since the Duke match. I'm not losing any sleep if he has become the poster child for it.

Have you ever been on this forum during a tournament?! People post as the match happens. Otherwise no one would post for 10 minutes until the match is over. Not realistic. Maybe you could try actually adding something to the conversation?
Ok. How’s this? Again, why do we need the score immediately when it ends as opposed to the pbp 10 minutes later? If the time difference is that critical, pay Flo the bucks and watch live. Or try. Does that satisfy ur conversation addition?

I do watch it live. That’s why I can post the score. It seems like you are on the losing end of this one if you look at other comments. Join the conversation and add something useful or go be quiet please. This is a forum to discuss wrestling which is what I’m doing

"We" don't need anything.

I like to know the score when it happens. Some people like to record games/matches and watch them later without spoilers. They go to a lot of effort to keep the suspense. I don't. I don't get the point of pretending something hasn't happened already to add to your excitement. I don't even like the delay on my YouTube TV stream of an Eagles game. When an event is finished, it's finished - it's still enjoyable for me to replay/reread/reconsume the event. To each his own.

If you don't want to know the score until you can consume it in your preferred fashion, I'd suggest you figure out a way to do that for yourself (which is possible) instead of dictating to others how to act.

Huh? Us commenting on the action and the current score is because we are watching it live on Flo. We are commenting and talking about it almost as if we are drinking beer and watching it together. We'll I am anyway but I am a loser and don't have freinds so maybe that's why there's a disconnect amongst us....

It’s a message board- people discuss in real time. How about not dictating to people how to discuss things? If it offends you so deeply, stay off until after you have watched it on Flo
