Do we have this with Lebby? Not only does he not win - does he have a relationship with the fanbase?
Can someone name one definitive positive about Lebby? I’m being serious. I don’t mean just on the field results. I mean anything. At least with Croom we got good press.

and I mean this seriously. I have no ties to the university or athletic department and haven’t been able to get back to a game except once every few years. I’m really asking, because it doesn’t seem good at all

My personal opinion but I believe his negatives are entirely based on his results on field. He seems very nice, has positive comments in interviews, recruits seem to like him, I haven’t heard of any times he made the students mad at him by being a 🍆 on campus. He simply hasn’t won what is desired so it’s easy to pour on to him. Now that is up to each fan go they feel based on these results but I think he’s fine in his public persona, just win and everyone will love him.

Brian Kelly just seems like a major *** to me. Easy to hate him regardless.

******Yall just keeping opening the door for Mr. Hair. Always remember all of this is CL's fault, and we just need to give Lebs 2 to 3 more years.*****

He finally got another WR drafted. And seems to be pretty good at developing those, along with a decent deep pass game. And he's a nice guy.

Problem with Lenny is that he just hasn't developed into a head coach yet. To me he's the the type of guy that needs to be OC for a long time, then maybe get a shot as a promotion at a bigger school. Kinda like the Ryan Day route. He probably should have stayed with Kiffin, or stayed under Venables or a long tenure. Then he might could have gotten a shot.

It was a bad hire for Mississippi State. Especially at the time we did it. We've had been better off giving Arnett and Barbay another year. Best case would have been hiring Fritz or similar. But Sappy Salmun made the worst choice possible, and Lenny suffers due to that.

But they are all getting paid big so there's really no wrong move for these coaches. It's more about their competitive side.

No better way for LSU to improve on that than hiring a major introvert.
For real. His twitter persona has totally bamboozled the sports media world into thinking Lane is this super personable guy.

“[Lane]’s not one who’ll say, ‘OK, I don’t want people to contact me. I don’t want people to touch me. I don’t want people to be around me.’"

That's hilarious. He is that guy, though I think he works hard to come across that way.

I legit think he was a candidate for A&M job the year before but told them he wasn't interested because he couldn't handle all the weird stuff they do there.

He lacks an identifiable personality other than being a nice guy. That doesn’t really matter if you are recruiting well and winning.

examples:

Saban - as$hole and very high demanding

Kiffin - funny, flashy, self-destructive, salesman, huge ego

Mullen - as$hole, enjoyed talking $h!t, huge ego

Freeze and Dabo - slimy, use religion to their advantage, salesmen

Cignetti - autistic mad man, high demanding

Croom - great guy persona, enough so that people wanted him to win

Leach - strangely hilarious, creative offensive specialist, pirates

Lebby?

I've never talked to him, but I suspect 1 on 1 he'd be a fun guy to hangout with, but he's too buttoned up in public and in the media. Leach and Sherrill were the most out-going personalities we've had at State since I've been a fan.

I wonder what Sherrill would've been like in the current age of social media. Heck, he'd probably be pretty good with NIL too!

Sherill had NIL going in the Southwest Conference long before the idea became the norm.

Yep. Same guy. That’s what’s interesting about Kiffin. He’s strangely awkward in person but does well with his online persona. It’s like online he’s an ON3 message board Heisman, but in real life he lives in mom’s basement.
I've never been so glad to be an All-American as I am right now.**

One on one Lebby is a guy you would really love. I like him personally.
I really hope he can find lightning in a bottle and make us successful in football.
This administration hasn’t done enough to make him successful by not allowing Art Briles to join his staff.
Maybe one day they will.
That’s when we will see the big jump.

Fritz canned Barbay for being bad. But you are right we should have stuck with him.

Is Ausberry the one responsible for hiring Kelley?
No. The AD who hired Kelly was fired by the governor for tying the University to such a large buyout....a buyout that is about half what they guaranteed Kiffin.

But here's what I dont understand...LSU stands to save money on the buyout whenever Kelly lands a new job. So why bad mouth him? If anything, Ausberry should be talking about how lucky some school would be to get him.

I'm sorry this is a sad statement basically saying after all the staff hires our head coach would be so much better if he was allowed to have his father in law come help him???? 17 that if he needs his wife's daddy to help him be a good head coach just dump Lenny and hire Art as HC if they would allow it!

Briles has been at multiple practices over the years including most of last fall camp. He’s now HC at a small school in Texas. Art didn’t want to join lebbys staff as he didn’t want any distractions or bad PR.

When he hears the kind of stuff his own fans say about him, why would you want to have any kind of interactions with them? Our fans are terrible to every coach we have that didn't play for the school in college.

I think you are trolling. But if you aren’t, you can’t be this dense. I can think of 4.3 million reasons a year that he should be bending over backwards to have interactions with every person wearing maroon he sees. It’s kind of part of the job.
