What does UK have to stand on?
Malachi is holding all the cards what exactly does UK have to bargain with?
Give his spot to someone else? Lol!
They just have to wait and if he does stay in, there's nothing but scrubs to take his roster spot.
Just reality of the situation.
no sh%t, what's Pope going to say- Malachi you need to decide now or we are moving on... lol

Pay him $3.5, cement it. We need him. From everything I have heard we are sitting under $10M spent right now so we should still have enough for Momcilovic unless Kentucky Basketball is now a tier 3 budget program
lol you guys. Moreno is worth in college 4-5 million. If moreno has a first rd guarantee he’s gonna make 3-4 million in salary and yea nba players also make money on NIL through endorsements. I think Moreno wanted to see what happened with the team and pope. We are still a team that struggles vs going to an nba contender later in the first round.

If Moreno is a first round NBA pick I guess I don't get the NBA anymore. He's shown no ability to bang down low, has mediocre hands..(that's being nice) and last time I checked has not shown any ability to hit a 15 foot jumper.

I get it, in the late first and second a lot of it is just drafting on potential and taking fliers on guys. But goodness.

He needs to come back to school and work on his strength and develop some moves. His game doesn't translate well to the NBA without a jump shot, IMHO.

He's got limited lift and doesn't play well on defense in space. Plenty to work on at this level.

IF he doesn't know by now he probably should stay in the Draft, Go play in the D-league where no one gives a **** or play at UK and make more money next year plus and improve his status for the next Draft. Time to make a decision!!

And more upside still if he goes in a much better spot next year.....I think it is quite a $$$ gamble for him to leave this year.
It's a HUGE gamble and he is getting ready to make a really BAD decision for his career. But it's his choice to make so best of luck to him.

He's doing exactly what Reed did and it worked out pretty well for him.
No way Reed was going higher than 3.
The NBA has always put value on youth and MM is trying to capitalize on that.
Your goal as a player is to always be drafted higher than the level you are able to contribute day 1 but you are selling them on the long term.

NCAA rules and many state laws prohibit NIL compensation from being a "pay-for-play" mechanism, meaning schools cannot directly pay athletes for athletic performance,
So, players are not being paid to play? Profit sharing is not being employed by schools? Look, I know you are trying to help me understand, but you can read your answers and see how we are living in a fiction, right? No one has ever thought we have anything but pay to play.

Moreno may not be back, BUT THIS IS THE EXPECTED SCRIPT. Every player says this sort of thing. You don’t apply for a job saying to your prospective employer you can take or leave it. All of these guys are on a stage right now. Both Robinson and Oweh said the same stuff. You cannot discern what a player will do until the deadline or in the very least until they use some magic words like “I am not going back to college.”

They are being to play for a school but the payments can't be performance based. You can't give bonuses for being SEC player of the year , averaging 15 a game etc.

Sure sounds like a guy that WANTS to stay in the draft. And his response about scrimmaging pretty much is saying he has a guarantee from a team (in a good position). He is only looking to improve his position with individual workouts.

This leads me to think he’s gone.

in the past, this is generally a sign that a player has a promise to be drafted... But who knows

Even if they don't have one now, its a sign they think they can get there. His interview made it pretty clear he's gone if it is even close. I kept trying to see signs he was just posturing for more nil money but he legitimately wants to leave.

I could not agree more. I was going to say the exact same thing. But you saved me the time.
