The second contract is between the school and Rhule’s LLC, MRJR Ventures, licensed out of Delaware in 2018.
What might be new in the industry: Through the LLC deal, Nebraska paid MRJR Ventures $5 million this spring to purchase Rhule’s intellectual property rights, for the duration of his tenure at NU.
Signed March 31, 2026, the deal pays roughly 19% of the 2026 salary on Rhule’s term sheet and 25% annually after that. When he makes $10 million in 2027, $7.5 million goes to Rhule and $2.5 million goes to the LLC..
NU now owns the “House Rhules” podcast, which has more than 12,000 subscribers, with episodes routinely attracting more than 50,000 views. Nebraska could collect speaking fees should Rhule be paid to give a speech, or it could put Rhule’s face on a cup and sell it for profit.

at this point there is probably a market for urinal pucks emblazoned with Rhule’s various looks.

—Jersey Shore Matt from the Vegas fight

—Barber shop quartet Matt from his Kentucky Derby visit.

—Backward hat Matt who was going to coach the Dline for the bowl game.

Cups, lol.

Rhule doesn’t even possess the horsepower to produce IP

unreal

Not to mention the conflict of interest.

As I understand this (article was behind a pay wall so I'm just going by the posted excerpt), in order for NU to make any money from this, we need things like Rhule's podcast, speaking engagements, appearances, etc to kill it. However, that's objectively in direct conflict with needing him allocating his time toward coaching football.

All coaches have that kind of stuff in their contract...media obligations, time off for appearances, etc. I've just never heard of it actually benefitting the University the more he does it.

In fact, most real coaches HATE that kind of stuff. Rhule not only apparently likes it, he has it in his contract to benefit the school the more he does it? There just seems to be, yet again, so much wrong with this whole thing.

Did we make money from Rhule going to Vegas for the fight the week of the Michigan game? Did we get paid for him ziplining through downtown the night before our bowl game? Did we get a cut of some kind of appearance fee at the Kentucky Derby?

And I'm not joking.

But they were, all of them, deceived, for another coin was made. In the land of Nebraska, in the fields of superior corn, the thieving Husker football coach Rhule forged in secret a master coin, to control all the Husker fans..

One coin to rule them all, One coin to tempt them, One coin to bring them all and in the darkness fleece them.

They could put his face on shooting targets and sell those too. Guarantee you and Kong would buy those. 🤡

the show should have been licensed under the university to begin with.. that they allowed Matt to license it himself, and then paid him for it, is outrageous. Someone should investigate the AD as well.

The AD extended Rhule's contract making it far more difficult to fire him and football is still the cash cow. Who else should be on the hot seat for the failures of the football program?
he not only extended the contract, but just paid Rhule another 5 mil, for these 'rights', which should have been the Universities, all along.. that is outright fraud going on right there.. both should be fired for cause.
