I guess my point is there isn't much perception of Ole Miss that is crazy above and beyond of what the perception of Mississippi and Mississippi state is.

You're right, but the question is whether it takes a little extra money or other efforts to overcome whatever racist perception there is. I dont know the answer to that, since I've never tried to recruit someone to Oxford. But the old racist image could be an issue in recruiting even if you eventually sign a player.
Well nobody is universally hated. But I just googled most hated college football coach. First hit was from 2024 & had him #2, behind Deion.
Im pretty sure UMiss isn’t losing black players because of their name or a mascot they dropped before these current players were born.
Which is why it is a shame that we don't promote what make us different, we are the most inclusive school, we have "The Game of Change" in basketball, and we even have the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library. All 3 things are poorly promoted and are positives that we are not taking advantage of. I refuse to accept that we are the same as Ole Miss just because some get us confused, in my opinion that is a branding issue that we could resolve.
How about we just promote us being a good university and 17 what a bunch of yankee kun ts think about us?

a large part of this and similar threads are how Kiffin's comments are mistakenly associated to us as well. It's either an issue or it's not. if we don't care what the "yankee kun ts" think of us, why all of the hand wringing? If it is an issue as some believe, we should get out in front of it, and not just because of this incident.

So is our school considered to be living in the Confederacy still? From what I’ve seen regarding Ole Miss football and basketball, GREEN is the only color that matters.

They hate him the same reason we would. He coached at our rival. We would get over the hate pretty quick though when he had us in the playoff.
I'm beginning to think Lame is a female TikTok influencer trapped in a male's body who just happens to be good at x's and o's. This guy just can't behave like a normal adult. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with him.
I'm not sure how much good will we can squeeze out of the Grant Presidential library, but it is a fantastic troll job towards the Rebels.
