I am a free thinking human being with intelligence and empathy. I work with human beings on regular basis. College football recruits are talented human beings with huge potential in their field. I root for Nebraska to be a place of excellence and competence and when a talented recruit comes to Nebraska and they are not trained, coached, educated, promoted or prepared it hurts the recruit, their family, but also the football program and the university.
Can you imagine what it would look like if the #1 qb in the nation went to Iowa, barely won 6 games, had his body broken because his uncle coached the offensive line, and then said qb gave up millions to transfer to be a backup at a top 10 school? The moral reality is gross but the optics are damaging because he was a high profile recruit who is perceived to sacrifice winning to help his dad's alma mater. The reality is top recruits only come to Nebraska to be overpaid, they have been duped and lied to, promised a starting position, or haven't done any research whatsoever and just go off of vibes. None of the above are good, nor will it lead to winning.
