Kepnang has that same ‘I’m not jumping, I’m just going to erase your shot because I understand angles better than your math teacher’ energy.
He’s got the soft touch, the patience, the rebounding instincts, the calmness, the ‘I’m going to casually dominate you without changing my facial expression’ vibe.

And the best part?
He’s doing this as a 7th year player in the SEC.
Olajawon didn’t even start cooking people until later at Houston.
Kepnang is already out here looking like he’s calculating trajectories in real time like a 7‑foot astrophysicist.

Dopey, you spend all your time arguing with anonymous people on a messageboard about stupid ****. Hopefully you’ll get this figured out before it’s too late.
No I don't. I talk ball with UK fans. I don't take crap off trolls like you

There was another post about Moreno being the next Tim Duncan and this thread was mocking on that.
Tim Duncan was a generational talent. Moreno is going to be very good next season, all conference good, I just hope it’s for us.

Is a trolling post to begin with so I mean how you can get behind that oh well. Second thing every coach to win a title at the university of Kentucky in the modern era let’s put this way post Rupp. Everyone their first NCAA tournament they made an elite eight. Nobody hates Pope. They hate the fact that he’s a loser. They hate the fact that he was brought in under the pretext this guy was the Captain for the 1996 national Champion team. He had zero on his résumé. Again, every other coach in the modern area, I’m not sure about Joe B but he didn’t begin coaching at Kentucky in the modern year, but every single one of them had a résumé with a final four or taking multiple teams that were hard-core football schools in a time that football schools didn’t win in basketball. That’s the only outlier was Tubby. But he had like three or four sweet 16s with Georgia and Tulsa. Pope hasn’t accomplished any of this. He doesn’t even have a tournament win outside the university of Kentucky.. the only reason he’s got those tournament wins is because he was at the university of Kentucky. I mean, Billy Clyde was about as close to a chimp as you can get for a basketball. I mean, the guy was drunk who knows he drunk on the job or not but he was heavy drinker. I mean the man gets to the NCAA tournaments first year because he’s at the university of Kentucky.. he would’ve missed both tournaments. Then you have to look at the fact that he even recruited better players than Pope. This guy with massive behavioral problems was a better recruiter than Mark Pope.. sorry nobody hates Mark Pope. A lot of people are beginning to because Mark Pope should’ve walked away this season. He should’ve read the look if you go and read when he asked for comments on Twitter go and read the freaking comments.. he’s picking out he’s having to look hard to find some of the questions that he’s answering

I think the people they hate Mitch Barnhart. Big blue nation was about 10 years too late on Mitch Barnhart maybe 15 years too late on Mitch Barnhart honestly, he should’ve been fired after he hired Billy Gillespie.. I mean he was sidelined when we hired cal. I know they try to spend this story, Lee Todd saying well he wanted to hire cal. I told him no. That’s a lie. I know a person in the room and that’s a lie what Lee Todd said was a lie.

I mean, we’re still May 11 or 12th whatever we’re still 45 days from when Barney’s gonna leave. There are no names being floated around other than the Boise State athletic Director.. in this hair brain idea of dividing athletic department to two separate entities having two athletic directors. I mean these guys are out thinking themselves. I mean the ideas to come up with good ideas not just freaking new ideas..

And so I will finish with this. Mark Pope is on the precipice of being shunned by big Blue nation.. We have not had a player put in this position in our history. I mean, Joe B play for up for a little bit coach. It was an assistant at Kentucky when he was elevated to head coach. Mark took the job for the money. He doesn’t have connections to people in Kentucky. There were a lot of people when his name was floated. They were like please know please no I say a lot of people I’m talking about influential people. I mean, I got text from a friend of mine that night. He’s a pretty freaking big donor man. I mean he’s most people would know him if I say the bottom line is he didn’t want them the other boosters. They did not want Mark Pope and we’re being forced fed a third year after the guy has massively struck out and we have this roster people are trying to hype up. They’re trying to hype up. Hope that he’s gonna land some guy listen at this point Popes taking whatever he can get good fit or not he’s definitely not recruiting his type of players right now he just taken Whats left and then maybe that can get him into the tournament with 76 teams. I mean everybody’s gonna get in. Unfortunate thing is Pope‘s gonna be remembered as the guy that torpedo UK basketball. It won’t be because cals gonna have a nice season at Arkansas. He’s got the players. He’s not a great coach, but he catches lightning in the bottle more than anybody else in history of the game. We have a midtier SEC roster that UK basketball now.. forget the all-time greatest list or THE LIST.

If you clean this board of clutter, there wouldn’t be many threads.. I mean UK basketball has gone from crashing servers to a whole new website where everything UK is on one page. It’s a pretty sad statement and it’s a massive indictment on Mark Pope.. I mean the bad news about it is his roster with us if they were able to get to a sweet 16, which there’s some possibility with the right draw but he were able to get to a sweet 16 or even just win a game people’s expectations they’re so low that they’re gonna be like oh my gosh, he’s a great coach we need to give him another year
I'm gonna read the Count of Monte Cristo again before I tackle this, its only 1200 pages

I really appreciate the enthusiasm, we need all we can get around here. If Kepnang was anything close to Hakeem, he would be in the NBA. I had never heard of him before signing here.
I have no idea about the footwork comparison to Hakeem, what i do know is he's a beast, can block shots, rebound & won't get bullied down low. He's also a backup & I hope he stays healthy.

I recall a classic long long ago thread with a poster who swore that Jared Carter was gonna become the Kentucky boy version of Bill Walton leading us to titles much like Big Bill did for UCLA.

And unlike this thread, he was deadly serious.
Luckily for us, we got him before N.Carolina snatched him up 🤣🤣🤣

At his size and length we just need him to understand geometry like a halfway decent basketball player and then we’ll be ahead of where we’ve been assuming Moreno comes back.

Good news. He will have to be our starting 5 if Moreno goes pro.

Would be pretty foolish to already think Moreno could be as good as Duncan. But the comparison has validity when it's made in regard to the way Moreno plays the Center position. Some on here probably have no recollection of Duncan in college, so those folks couldn't understand the comparison on any level. Duncan was a low wow-factor, play within himself, more cerebral, text-book positioning with a good base kind of Center. His size and build, his basketball strengths, and the deliberate way he moved are reminiscent of Moreno.

So, I understand what whoever made that comparison was likely getting at. It's nuance and a comparison of style and type, not necessarily superficial thinking of "Moreno is Tim Duncan reincarnated." Saying Moreno evokes certain stylistic and functional qualities that Duncan showed as a young college Center is very different from saying he's going to become as good as Duncan.

We have 2 players off a team that didn’t make the tournament last year and only our fans would compare one to one of the greats.

If Moreno doesn't improve his strength he may be seeing the bench more than he would like
He was unplayable in iowa St game.
