He consistently landed Top 5 portal classes while he was there. Did he think Ole 17n Miss was supposed to #1?
He’s gonna make their match up the most watched game of the year.
To be fair, If I had any, I wouldn't want my grandkids living in Oxford, MS either.
I hate ole miss as much as the next person but this is just lane stirring the pot and trying to recruit against OM.

He is going to crash and burn. He can't just be a football coach. The added attention and publicity that he gets at LSU is going to be more than he can handle and he won't be able to keep his eye on the ball.
If he takes enough cheap shots at Ole Miss, they may decide to retaliate by releasing some dirt on Lanes extracurricular activity while at Ole Miss. seems like a bad strategy.
They already tried. Unless he was doing some pedo stuff, it’s all out there and no one cared. He’s a single guy in his 50s. Who cares if he’s banging 20 year olds?
Lane is just doing what every other coach has done when they’re recruiting against OM. **** both parties.
Boosters could make the dirt much more detailed and coverage could national, that seems obvious
I also don't think that had a thing in the world to do with his decision. He was moving to a bigger name in college football (and therefore could get better players easier), and he increased his salary by 50%.

This is a very real possibility. I just have a feeling that last year at Mississippi was his peak.
He was such a good fit at OM. It just all worked but he thought he was too good, so we’ll see how it plays out in Baton Rouge for him, which I don’t really care one way or the other, as long as OM sinks back to mediocrity.

It is really funny that 6 months ago they were certain this guy loved it there and Oxford had changed him for the better.
Nobody as long as he's winning, single, and not banging employees. But we all know what remains undefeated. He'll dip his pen in the company ink at some point.

You’ve got the most expensive roster in CFB. The expectations for you are so, so much higher for you in year one than any other coach in the country. If he goes 9-3 and they finish ranked #14th, miss the playoffs, your fanbase will consider that an abject failure.

I think very few people outside of Oxford hate him. The Twitter stuff is no different than anything he's done the last six years. It's just directed at Ole Miss now, and it's largely in response to the social media jihad that their fans have continued wage against him since he left.
OM fans were in love with him as recently as the day after Thanksgiving when he was telling make-believe stories about MSU fans in his locker room.

Josh Pate did a “Most Hated Coaches” poll on Twitter/his showwhich is national and one of the biggest shows on YouTube.
It was overwhelmingly kiffin, something like 68% with 9 other coaches listed. No one else got more than 10%. 6 figures worth of votes.
Between the regular season and the postseason, that was the biggest CFB story. The whole country watched it. And people already hated Kiffin before he even got to OM.
