Eventually things will calm down....
Until then....
When a program like Purdue is whining so much about losing Thompson, I suspect he will turn out to be a very good college player. The guy who hasn’t played a game yet? Maybe wait and see a little bit my man.
It may not be a bad idea for Jirak to redshirt.Manyawu will be a senior, multi-year/multi-game starter, 4th year in McCollum’s system averaging around 20 minutes per game.
McKeever is the high priced much sought after 7ft3 transfer with a full year of starter experience.
I don’t see how Jirek plays much if at all with the Manyawu and McKeever manning the low post position. More likely that he takes a redshirt next season.
No, Payne was a legit 6’10”, at least.I think Stokes and Payne were actually closer to 6-8 and 6-9. Stokes was a great player.
I thought Lohaus was 7ft.
of course if they do approve the 5 for 5 rule, it won't matterIt may not be a bad idea for Jirak to redshirt.
Lohaus was indeed 7'No, Payne was a legit 6’10”, at least.
Because inquiring idiots I mean minds need to know. Welcome to the “twilight zone”.It's over 40 years ago. Why are we arguing over an inch or 2?

Definition of a crying shame:How’s a fella go about being an agent. Enlighten me. Agents and lawyers are both tied for last.
HaHa.. I don't know though. Lawyers are like cops. Most people talk down on them, until they NEED one.....Definition of a crying shame:
When a bus load of lawyers goes over a cliff and there are two empty seats.
What do you call 100 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start.Definition of a crying shame:

Actually, when you google former Iowa basketball player Michael Payne’s height, it says he was 6’11”, so I’m sticking with my 6’10” comment. No way.
Based off history, I think it’s safe to say BMC knows what he’s doing. The big thing I want to point out is that it seems like, for the most part, Ben has identified and landed his top priorities in the portal this year. I could be wrong, but reading between the lines a bit, it seems like Iowa’s top 3 targets in the portal were Drew McKeever, Kyan Evans, and Ty’reek Coleman. Those are the only guys who have visited, to my knowledge. And we secured commitments from 2 of the 3, and were reportedly very close on the third.
In the weeks to come, there will no doubt be more and more rankings of how teams did in the portal this year. We may or may not be rated particularly high. But it doesn’t matter, because we got the guys we wanted.
If we trust Ben McCollum — if we believe he knows what he’s talking about when he says he’s looking for a certain type of player — we’ve got to be incredibly happy with this class, and very optimistic about the future of Hawkeye basketball.
I know most folks are feeling good about this class tonight, but when the dust settles, there’s going to be folks coming out of the woodwork to poke holes in our portal class and our roster in general. Ultimately, we won’t know anything until the games are played. But we should always remember this: Ben got the guys he wanted.
EDIT: Schnarnowski also visited. s/o to @doughuddl2_rivals for the catch.
He’s probably a Woodbury type.Sean Bock in his reviews of Coleman and McKeever said McKeever had 9 dunks last year.
Wha!!??
Can that be possible?
Why are we arguing over an inch or 2?
He’ll be better than Woodbury. He’s probably a Woodbury type.
And that’s exactly what BMC needs him to be.
If that happens, great. I'm all for it.He’ll be better than Woodbury.
I was around during those says and I know what they claimed, but the pictures prove otherwise.Actually, when you google former Iowa basketball player Michael Payne’s height, it says he was 6’11”, so I’m sticking with my 6’10” comment.![]()
