He was able to fend off 3 Alabama defenders who were trying to tackle him before the ball got there. He had to learn to play tough because he saw real quick there weren’t gonna be any flags against the players guarding him.

Moulds could have been even better at State if Taite had thrown him the ball more.

The rumor was they were fighting over the same chic and Taite got back at him by going elsewhere with the ball if possible.

Moulds coulda came down with almost every 50/50 ball (As well as some multi-coverage situations). He was that good. And we would have won more games.

Eric was a cool dude. Caught up with him after class one day and he signed a bunch of bank deposit slips I had(only thing I had in my bag at the time). Baller on the field.

Rumor was always King Jackie’s daughter. Probably not true. Taite got it to him a good bit plus the line let us down in 95.

Todd Jordan also got it to him a good bit in 93. But in both 93 and 95 we were booing the QB like crazy bc that’s what we do.

I had hoped one of Mould’s children would have made a good WR
Here they all are geared up outside the old University Commons...

I had heard that Kent Hull hated Eric Moulds because he thought Moulds could be the best wide receiver in the league but didn't care enough to do it or something along those lines. No clue how many people this passed from before I heard it, so could be completely made up, but I can imagine somebody like Hull that outperformed his measurables by such an incredible amount probably would be somewhat disgusted by somebody with god given talent that he thought underachieved. I'm also not sure Moulds underachieved after the first year or two. He didn't exactly have Tom Brady back there throwing to him for most of his career. I don't remember Rob Johnson and Flutie being terrible, and I guess Bledsoe was good when he was in Buffalo, so not like he spent his entire career with complete scrubs, but definitely not a dream team of QBs.

LOL I remember the first time Kent played. It was1979 as a Freshman due the starter getting injured. He entered the game (at around 200 lbs) and if I remember correctly it was against Florida and they an all conference NG . Kent more than held his ground, never looked back and the rest is history .

I always said if that the passing records Taite got were because Moulds caught anything thrown within 6 yards of him in any direction, including up.

I remember watching our QB throw a duck towards Moulds. He turned and saw it, then put his head down and sped up like he had to get to it. The defender turned and followed only for Moulds to stop and then catch the horrible duck pass.

Who knows how good he could have been in college with a good QB.

I could see that. He had a pretty good NFL career. But there’s no reason he shouldn’t have had a Hall of Fame career.

There was a reason. It was above his shoulders, which is also part of the package we're given at birth. We're all a little different.
