You can make just about anyone look good at something in a highlight video that removes all their mistakes. Momcilovic is most definitely not a good creator of anything off the dribble even if he hits a few pull ups on a highlight reel. I still want him because his three point shooting is so exceptionally good that he’d still improve our current roster just with that, but I think some of us are so desperate for good news that he’s been built up into something he’s not. He’s pretty much the top 1% outcome of a one tool player rather than the versatile two-way superstar some are starting to convince themselves he is.

Here is a pretty good scouting report on his actual strengths and weaknesses if anyone is interested.

With Diallo and Wilkins, we don’t need him to be a creator. His dribble pull ups are more than enough. His shooting gravity will transform the entire offense and he’s a good defender as well. He’d be a godsend for UK and as I said weeks ago, I want him more than Stokes — not because he’s a better player in a vacuum but because his skillset is the perfect complement to our backcourt. I didn’t really think we had a chance to get him — and maybe we really don’t now. But if Pope can land Momcilovic, I believe he will have a real shot to keep his job. If he doesn’t and what we see now is closer to a finished roster — he’s as good as cooked imo.

I said he's a great shooter.
Go prove me wrong and find one one clip of him driving from outside past his guy

I just rewatched it till the 12 min mark and there's not one
Literally a highlight video for 12 straight mins of all 3 point shots
So I guess you don't know what creating off the dribble is. Which doesn't surprise me on here

That Dirk move is creating his own shot and he can create his own shot in other ways AND he can drive to the basket. I’m not saying the guy is Kobe. Just that he is far from just a “spot up” shooter. That’s where you started with him and that’s just nuts.

His highlight reels are full of threes because he’s great at that. Go to YouTube and watch game tape of the season. I think you’ll feel different about the spot up shooter comment.

People were saying if pope can add weight, stokes and freeman pope can do this also. After they reject us, who is next on the list pope can sign and pull his junk out and set it on out heads? You are at such a loss, you just say “a top euro” I want names. That’s such a ******** vague description. Is jelly a top euro? Is ndiaye a top euro? Is santos a top euro? Who? Names?

We NEED Momcilovic! I will be happy with this roster if we can land him. Pope has focused on getting guys in the portal who can create their own shot and create for others (Diallo, Wilkins, Morton) and McBride can create for himself.... now we just need a guy who is a knock down shooter. Pope needs to throw the rest of the entire bag at Momcilovic!

From everything I've seen, this guy looks like a much more polished Brea. He’s better at everything than Brea was and he has a game that is more advanced.
Brea didn’t drive the ball much either, until Jaxson went down. After that happened, he really started asserting himself more.
But I tell you what, if I could shoot like Milan can, I wouldn't drive much either. 3>2.

That's a roster that could save Pope's job. Kentucky needs a top 3 SEC finish, and a second weekend to make it happen. I think that group gets the job done if they stay healthy.

At minimum an elite eight. And if we hire a really good AD and he has some coaches lined up then it’s going to take a REALLY special season to save Pope as he’s been pretty much a disaster in every aspect in the last year.

I guess someoneshould start a new thread. It's ironic the biggest hater of Pope on here uses the handle of a coach who legitimately gave up here just facts. Pope has disappointed but let's not forget both years he was plagued with injuries.
