By making us play a bowl game at 5-7?
I’d prefer we not play in a bowl at 5-7 anyway.
This is good news for MSU. The SEC has done right by MSU in bowl selections since 1998 & 1999. I'm still boycotting Outback. No 17ing sarcasteriks
I used to want to play no matter what so younger players could get a 2nd spring practice. But now that you’re flipping 50%+ of you roster every year that’s out the window. I’d still rather see more Mississippi State football than less but not a big deal either way.
You are not missing anything from Outback. It's not what it used to be. Wife and I quit going. Not worth it.

Yeah. I boycott Outback for completely different reasons than a bowl game 20 years ago.
I don't eat at Outback often, but in just a couple days after Katrina they were set and serving free meals at the Gulfport courthouse. I'll always appreciate them for that.
Last year they had to beg to get all of the 5-7 spots filled. Most schools didn't want it.
This is a good rule, It will let them go straight to the schools who will say Yes rather than being forced to go down a list where most say No.

This is correct who cares. Go get a better coach and recruit the portal instead of striking out on everyone even tho we have NIL. It’s embarrassing
There's a reason 5-7 teams say no. In this day and age of begging for every dollar they can get from fans, does it make sense as a 5-7 team to lose money by going to a bowl? Any bowl you go to at 5-7 is going to be a bowl with not a huge payout and after paying charter air flights, hotels and meals for a week for the entire travel party, buses to transport the travel party everywhere for a week, band buses, etc it doesn't make sense to lose money doing that and then start begging for more money from fans
State sent pep band to Charlotte last year. Frankly, buying airplane tickets, hotel, meals and game tickets, I was embarrassed they even sent a pep band. If ya can’t send the whole band to do a pregame or half time show, screw it. Leave em home and ask a local high school band to play the fight song. Wake took a pep band and still did a half time show. How embarrassing that must have been.
How And why does every rule screw us mindset come into play with this fan base. Oh something happened in the 90s so that should cary over for 2026. And yes I went to SEC championship game in 98 and went to the peach bowl in 99
Thats just stupid. Those extra 15 practices are invaluable. Sure if much rather win 7-10 games but having the ability to go to a bowl get practice reps building for the next season. Thst is what your looking for when your 5-7, 6-6
I'd much rather not eat at a chain but outback has a solid steak and that bread is damn good. Blooming onion is still a solid app too.

I had it earlier this week on a work trip - it was solid (coconut shrimp were good) ; now it didn’t compare to Jeff Rubys but that’s two different price points on food
Yeah i was gonna say. I am not expecting mortons when i go but i think i'm getting pretty decent food for the price i'm paying.
Since day 1 but over the last two years it’s gotten increasingly worse or more negative. Even you have to admit it’s been littered with trolls and posters who take anything that occurs and skew it negatively . Im not saying it’s all rosey and Maroon covered glasses but recently posters have steered toward the negative about anything. This thread sums it up.
If you’ve been here from the beginning you know this is pretty much on par with what Sixpack is or can be. Hell, it was the reason it was created.
