Great job to beat the richies down Route 27. House money vs Maryland on Sunday in Round 2.

When the RU player fell down and Princeton got the ball back to quickly score and make it 12-11, as an RU fan, kinda was like here we go again, going to allow Princeton to come back and win. But got to give the team a lot credit, huge draw win and then holding off Princeton. Including a steal with only a few seconds left to seal the win.

Yeah that was a lot harder than it should’ve been after we took a 10-5 lead midway through the 3rd quarter.

And it really should’ve been 11-5, but the refs waived off a goal because the follow through on the shot hit the defender in the shoulder/neck. I thought that was a questionable call, as the defender pushed our girl with her stick FIRST as she was taking the shot. But of course, the refs reviewed it and not only disallowed the goal but also gave our player a yellow card.

Anyway, that was a 60-minute chop, and the ladies should be damn proud of vanquishing a Princeton team that throttled us 15-9 (after taking an 8-1 lead) back in February.

Now we have the pleasure of playing 3 seed Maryland on their home field in the second round. I don’t expect to win, and frankly after exerting so much effort just two days before Sunday’s 12 noon matchup, I frankly expect to be blown out. But you never know, and the season has to be viewed as a success regardless of Sunday’s outcome.
