So you think he told the trainer about everything he was taking?I thought any trainer would know basketball players and creatine doesn't mix especially in season.
For the exact reason that affected DP
The saga will continue with Mr stokes .That guy is a strange cat. Always something weird about him.
He had to get the idea from somewhere. So you think he told the trainer about everything he was taking?
I’m guessin this can be blamed solely on DP‘s own stupidity. I doubt the trainer even knew he was taking it.
This story leading up to the draft has a purpose.I call BS, the amount of creatine he must have been taking was astronomical. Chances are it was something else.

Putting to rest the myth of creatine supplementation leading to muscle cramps and dehydration - PubMed
Creatine is one of the most popular athletic supplements with sales surpassing 400 million dollars in 2004. Due to the popularity and efficacy of creatine supplementation over 200 studies have examined the effects of creatine on athletic performance. Correctly.Yeah I dont buy that. I think everyone should take creatine.
There are studies now showing using 10 to 20 grams daily improve cognitive function.Correctly.
Even then it's benefits for a basketball player is minimal.
Especially a skill position player like DP.
Not like he's banging down low.
100% BS. You're telling me high school athletes can take creatine without cramping issues, yet one of the world's elite athletes does and causes him cramping issues? Like you said it must have been an insane amount he was taking, and no college level trainer would have approved of that. To me it sounds like a cover up for something else.I call BS, the amount of creatine he must have been taking was astronomical. Chances are it was something else.

I took creatine for awhile when I was power lifting but I didn't feel like it was really making much of a difference at the time.
Probably wasn’t hydrating enough, at 55, I take 5-10g per day.Who’s training this guy?
After a week loading phase of 20-25 grams per day, a maintenance dose of 5-10 grams per day (depending on muscle mass and physical activity) is more than enough for peak performance, as long as water intake is sufficient and maintained.
Creatine, like a lot of other things, becomes a point of diminishing returns if you take too much, and to have to go to the hospital, he must have been taking, and wasting, 10x the normal amount for an extended period of time!
He's about to retire and it isn't his money. He doesn't give a flying flip. Yet another obstacle in the NIL era.For Bill Self to spend $7 million on a high-drama, egomaniacal prima donna flake like Stokes just six weeks or so after folding up a season in the Round of 32 with last year's No 1 high school recruit in Darryn Peterson who had his own issues all year is the epitome of Albert Einstein's definition of insanity: To repeat the same behavior and expect a different outcome.
Did you consider asking the Google machine?I know nothing about this supplement but why is not considered a PED?
Yet with all the legal problems, attitude problems and public relations nightmares Kids just keep committing to self and Kansas because Pope just doesn’t relate well. Bullish,, they are compensating them differently. Self has been a disaster, now he has medical problems. It’s the Money. For Bill Self to spend $7 million on a high-drama, egomaniacal prima donna flake like Stokes just six weeks or so after folding up a season in the Round of 32 with last year's No 1 high school recruit in Darryn Peterson who had his own issues all year is the epitome of Albert Einstein's definition of insanity: To repeat the same behavior and expect a different outcome.
Mega dosing with 20-25 grams a day is also brain healthy and has many benefits. I don’t buy creatine caused the cramps. This is scientifically false. I take 15 grams per day with heavy running/lifting activity and it actually helps recover the muscles. I have zero cramping issues.
I know. Every time I hear about a serious health risk problem going around the first place I look for help is this site. Better than the Cleveland Clinic.Welcome to Rupp Rafters. Home of Certified Basketball and Medical Knowers.
My guess is that this entire story is BS. I wouldn’t be shocked to hear he OD’d on some Fentanyl or something he got in some laced bud or something… it’s in everything these days. Maybe he went to a party and decided to try something. Whatever happened to him I don’t for one second think he OD’d on Creatine. So you think he told the trainer about everything he was taking?
I’m guessin this can be blamed solely on DP‘s own stupidity. I doubt the trainer even knew he was taking it.
