When you have guys like Kong and Wilson always bitching about something wrong with nu football can you blame the kid for looking around, plus Ohio st will just recruit top players from other teams just so those teams don’t get better, Michigan is another, hell Nebraska did that in their hay day just so ku and kst wouldn’t get better
I never really looked at it like that but that is a great strategy.

Especially back in the day when players pretty much were stuck with the team that they started with.

With fanbases in the hundreds of thousands- opinions are going to be all over the map. A recruit who would take to heart what only a handful of people are getting hot about is very immature and unrealistic.

Some of us very invested fans are just tired of rah rahing it and making excuses like we have for decades now. We are sick of being taken for granted. Doing what we have been doing obviously isnt working.

You think Kong and Wilson are affecting the decisions of these kids? 😂🤦‍♂️

I find it mildly amazing Trae is so committed to Rhule. If he bails I wouldn't use the word "hilarious" but I would say it's not shocking. Anyone remember Trae's dad on this board? Felt legit but who knows - and he kept saying his boy is fully committed. Meh. Why accept the OSU visit if you're not at least willing to listen?

Heck, I don't blame him for listening to OSU - I would tell my son to listen for sure. But please, no one buys it anymore when kids use exclamation points to say "1000% N!"

I mean he is here playing football in Nebraska now…he didn’t need to do that to secure our confidence, but he did. I wonder was he going to start where he was previously at, anyone know this?

I have never gotten excited about Trae’s commitment. I always assumed he would end up getting more money from a team with deep pockets and would defect from us. Going to be hard to keep him if he is as good as advertised after we go 5-7 or 4-8 this year.

Let’s face facts. Nebraska football needs a large influx of NIL money or else we are going to continue to flounder. College football has become a semi pro money racket and only teams with sh$t loads of money will be in the playoffs. NU has “decent” levels of money, but not enough.

You have a lot of ridiculous takes on here, Baxter. This is one of the most ridiculous.

1) Any kid looking around because some of our fans aren't happy and b*tch about it can go ahead and leave. We don't need any players with skin that thin.

2) You really think Ohio State sees us as such a threat that they're in the business of recruiting kinds just so we don't get them? Not that they want him, but just so we can't have him? Come on, man. Do you know what year it is?

That show is pretty brutal. I will listen to it when I am driving home and/or driving to one of my vacation homes, but I would never seek it out or listen to a podcast of it.

With that said...at least it is local.

kid is a great talker.. a lot like Rhule in that regard.. I just want to know if he wins games. I don't care about anything else at his position other than his win-loss numbers.. it's important to recruit guys that win games.. championships. More important than most anything else imo. winners win. losers make excuses.

A lot of us are in the same boat:

1. We like the kid. He has charisma and he has talent
2. We've been burned by the Raiola types and are skeptical of young athletes and their commitments
3. NIL and Portal has changed millions of fans from following these kids and their HS careers to "Meh... see you in the Fall if you show up."
4. Just win baby. We don't care about social media, hype, talk, promises, recruiting etc. Just get here and win. Then we can be friends.

Don’t fault the buckeyes. This is what you’re supposed to do. If you want to take some other kids lunch money, you take it. It’s your job to hang onto it.

So they are using us for player development? I don't know why, but that doesn't sound right ...
Yeah, that right there is comical. If they see some talent on our roster, they’re just gonna go and take it or try to. That’s what big boys do.

As you know...there are A LOT of very sensitive Husker fans.
So what that is every single fan base in the country: even your Illini fan base. You are one of the most emotional during basketball season. Any input you give is swipes at the fan base. Your shtick is worn out. Find new material

If you can find me one "most emotional post" during basketball season, from me...I will 100% find new material. Deal?

All my posts during basketball season are "These refs, am I right?"

Pelini had that stud WR locked up until Ole Miss came in last minute.

During the Callahan era, who was that LB who intentionally flipped from Nebraska last minute to OU? Travis something or another....

Also Josh Freeman...

Those 2 were a kick in the nuts.
I generally do not think one recruit can save or ruin a program but losing Blaine Gabbert during the Cally/Pelini transfer might have cost us a national title chance. The 2009 team had arguably the best defense in the country, and a decent run game. We had the worst qb play in the country however. Gabbert would end up being really good in 2010 and would have been a huge upgrade for us in 2009 and 2010 at qb. Top Pelini defenses with an all-conference qb would have given us a real chance to make a national title game in both of those seasons...we were seconds from making BCS games in both of those years.

You also have to doubt why he would choose NU over OSU? Is he being that overpaid? Is he really that oblivious to what is going on in the program? Does he want a promised starting job? The hope is that a player chooses a school because of the head coach, then maybe the offensive coordinator and qb coach, and competitive pay and NIL opportunities, and opportunity to win then maybe the fan base or town. We know why Dylan chose us and none of the reasons were "healthy". And he will have to rebuild his career because of it. We aren't winning with Rhule, and no top recruits are going to be here for the transition to the next coach, so we are just waiting for the inevitable, and in my mind I want talented kids to have the best experience possible. Nu isn't that, at this moment.

Quit trying so hard. Classic defeatist. “How could any kid with any talent possibly choose Nebraska right now?” 😭

Was just back in NE enjoying some spring high school sports and basically 100% of bleacher conversation was lamenting Millard South’s ruining of high school football in the metro

People hate that Trae and whoever else are coming in to play for an all star team

I wonder if that din will grow as the season goes along and non-MS fans will actively be rooting against/hating our 2nd promised prince before he even gets to Lincoln
put your erection away sir
