Yes. 7-2 roadtrip was great.
And the starters have been mostly excellent. And that's with Cole, Rodon, and Schmidt still recovering from injuries.
And we've found our first baseman.
It's been a fun season so far and looks promising for how it will end.
BTW, for me it's far better than where I was last April...the hospital. I'm enjoying the crap out of this April.
Go Yankees.

Boone finally replaces Grisham, hitting .155, with Goldschmidt...hitting .156!

No legit leadoff guys on the team?

How about Caballero?

Not sure Caballero qualifies. as a true leadoff hitter. He has a .310 OBP. TBH not sure there are too many true leadoff hitters in the mold of Ricky Henderson or Tim Raines anymore.

1. Only the playoffs matter.
2. Fire Cashman.
1. I disagree. I want my team to win every game they play. Every game matters to this fan. I so enjoy winning.
Thus, April 2026 was very good for me. And May is starting to look good as well.
2. You can't really think at this point that there's any chance of that happening. And yet you keep saying it.

Sure, I like seeing the Yanks win whenever I watch them. However, even if they win 110 games in the regular season and run away with the division, if they tank in the divisional round or ALCS the season will be another failure and Cashman will be to blame once again.

Do I need to remind you of what the definition of insanity is again? :)

Very enjoyable win today. I like this winning stuff.
Just a little concerned about Rice's injured hand though.

I'm 47 and John Sterling was the only baseball soundtrack that I knew until a couple of years ago. It's definitely a sad day for Yankees fans, and baseball fans for that matter. He was 87 years, called over 5,000 consecutive games, 5 World Series titles, 2 (maybe 3, if he did the Oakland game a few years ago) perfect games, and got to live out his dream. May he RIP.

I started out with Rizzuto, Messer, White but the bulk of my Yankees fanhood was spent with Sterling.

Listening to Sterling on the radio was more pleasurable than Kay on TV. Even when he started slipping a bit and calling home runs that weren't actually home runs he had that Rizzuto factor where you just loved him and enjoyed the moment. The nicknames were out of control but you just couldn't wait to see what everyone's would be on that first home run call.

RIP to the voice of the Yankees.

On another note, Skubal to the IL for 2-3 months for surgery to remove loose particles from his elbow. I'm guessing this will lower his trade value a bit for this season. Yankees gotta keep rolling and stack those wins.

Really enjoyed Sterling during the late 90s/early 2000s run, but he definitely got hokey in his later years. Regardless, he was always better than Kay!

Enjoying May even more than April so far.
12-1 win today for a four-game sweep of the Orioles. Outscored the O's 39-10 in the series.
Cam Schlittler now 5-1 with 1.52 ERA
Max Fried now 4-1 with 2.39 ERA
Will Warren 4-0 with 2.39 ERA
The Yankees have now won 14 of their last 16 games.
Damn...even Jake Bird is now contributing.
On a down note, now they get deGrom and Eovaldi next two games hosting the Rangers.

Yet they can't separate themselves from Tampa Bay who is playing just as well, winning 10 of 11.

It's been a true team experience over this nice run of wins. Not waiting for Judge to hit 3 homers every night.

There are only 3 teams in the American League with an above .500 record. That is quite insane.

Yes, but as a fan, it was YOUR hokey and no one else’s. I’m not a Yankee fan but I’m going to miss him. I always liked listening to his pre-game MLB round-up when I was driving home from work. I know it was mainly wire or canned stuff but he delivered it beautifully and you were caught up after hearing it.

It's similar to the feelings that many had for listening to Bruce Johnson do Rutgers basketball games. To me, he's the all time GOAT of RU hoops on the radio.

Yup! I was thinking of Bruce when I posted that. “Bending, bending, bending, and in!” 😁
