I think Gil will be great in the pen if he buys in. Weathers will be a very good long man as well.
7-2 roadtrip and 8-2 over the last 10 and this thread only attracts negative attention.

And the starters have been mostly excellent. And that's with Cole, Rodon, and Schmidt still recovering from injuries.
And we've found our first baseman.
It's been a fun season so far and looks promising for how it will end.
BTW, for me it's far better than where I was last April...the hospital. I'm enjoying the crap out of this April.

Not sure Caballero qualifies. as a true leadoff hitter. He has a .310 OBP. TBH not sure there are too many true leadoff hitters in the mold of Ricky Henderson or Tim Raines anymore.

Sure, I like seeing the Yanks win whenever I watch them. However, even if they win 110 games in the regular season and run away with the division, if they tank in the divisional round or ALCS the season will be another failure and Cashman will be to blame once again.

John Sterling passed away. Legendary Yankees announcer. For many younger people he was THE announcer of their lives.

I'm 47 and John Sterling was the only baseball soundtrack that I knew until a couple of years ago. It's definitely a sad day for Yankees fans, and baseball fans for that matter. He was 87 years, called over 5,000 consecutive games, 5 World Series titles, 2 (maybe 3, if he did the Oakland game a few years ago) perfect games, and got to live out his dream. May he RIP.
I started out with Rizzuto, Messer, White but the bulk of my Yankees fanhood was spent with Sterling.
Listening to Sterling on the radio was more pleasurable than Kay on TV. Even when he started slipping a bit and calling home runs that weren't actually home runs he had that Rizzuto factor where you just loved him and enjoyed the moment. The nicknames were out of control but you just couldn't wait to see what everyone's would be on that first home run call.

Really enjoyed Sterling during the late 90s/early 2000s run, but he definitely got hokey in his later years. Regardless, he was always better than Kay!

Yes, but as a fan, it was YOUR hokey and no one else’s. I’m not a Yankee fan but I’m going to miss him. I always liked listening to his pre-game MLB round-up when I was driving home from work. I know it was mainly wire or canned stuff but he delivered it beautifully and you were caught up after hearing it.
It's similar to the feelings that many had for listening to Bruce Johnson do Rutgers basketball games. To me, he's the all time GOAT of RU hoops on the radio.
