Draft combine starts in 3 days and runs through the 17th. So fans will need to be patient on this one, and hope his stock doesn't shoot into the first round at the combine.
If he likes what he hears I say easily 4.5-5 million would be more than NBA money where he is slotted to go right now late first early 2nd
I think the 4 would remain N'Daye and McBride, Kam would back up Momcilovic and we will either bring back Moreno or give his money to a Euro big. I think Hawthorne would have to get in where he fits in
It looks like we like to get our hopes high just to get disappointed once again.
1)Why would Milan don’t got to NBA, where he will probably be a first round pick, get paid, focus on basketball, get professional training, nutrition, recovery, mental training, etc to play in college?
2) Let‘s say he doesn’t get picked in first round, and money in college is better than second round nba, why would he pick to play for MP, which his previous coach and team with him on the floor destroyed during the ncaa tournament even without their best player on the court?
3) Why do we think that out of sudden, MP will be able to close a deal?

We get this guy and a decent big guy, I could have some hope.
1) He is getting mostly 2nd round to mid 2nd round projections.
2) He took the Zoom call which means he has interest, he could have easily declined it.
3) No faith in Pope closing it, only faith that we offer the most $$$$ because our staff and administration knows we need a win.
I want to believe, but like you said, no faith. Money doesn't appear to be as advantageous as previously thought, assuming we even have a lot.

missed out on Stokes but honestly I dunno how he will turn out. need a sf/pf hybrid and back up center. lots of teams have specific needs right now, not just us.
everyone will have questions because each team is new. player a might have been great on team a but sucks on team b. we also have guys like Hawthorne, Kam, ousmane who could give us more than expected.

I think number 2 and the fact he took the Zoom is telling. He entered with a Do Not Contact Tag and the schools originally rumored to be in front have complete rosters already. This is a good sign for us, not to mention the fact there has been no reporting about any other school talking with him up to this point. Give Milan the bag he wants and seal this deal up sooner than later.

If he comes, you have to think the plan is to slide Kam to the 4 with Hawthorne as the back up 3. Domino effect would have McBride in a back up PF roll and N'diaye as the back up center. A Zoom/Wilkins/Milan/Kam/Moreno is pretty on offense, possibly a disaster on defense. But a bench of Hawthorne, N'daiye, McBride, Morton and M Williams is solid. Spot minutes for Noah.

Taking the Zoom is technically good, but players take Zooms all the time. Getting the foot in is easy, closing is a different animal. I feel like there are enough teams out there with the funds to get this kid. UK needs to be aggressive.

This isn't a normal situation though, he entered focusing on the draft with a Do Not Contact Tag. It's not a quick Zoom right after the portal opened to gauge interest. This is a month later and literally no other school has talked with him. It is way more telling in this situation IMO that the interest is real and I'm sure it is based off $$$. I knew we had talked to his agent last week and made an offer and were trying to get him to visit Campus. This is a big win in his recruitment as previously I knew we were 3rd down the line in his mind. Now I'd be almost certain we picked up steam for him to speak with us first.
yeah pope did beat duke, when was last time cal ever beat duke? here is logic too,look at our strength of schedule last two years compared to our last 30 years. pope actually called time outs and in some second halves we played harder and we did play zone. compare that to cal who lost to oakland, St Peters, Evansville, Unc Ashville with players like shepard, Oscar, and loses to mid major schools. his substitution patterns last year weren't great due to players not panning out and giving players time who didn't need it
