Why don’t you let us target your head from 150 yards. We will aim for your ear.

Stupid argument. But you got your response 🤷‍♂️😂
Stupid is promising the ballroom would be privately funded only for him to pull a bait and switch and decide that he would take our taxes dollars to pay for his billion dollar vanity project that won't even be ready until his presidency is over. I.E., this won't protect him at all because it won't be available for use before he leaves.

Once again, another lie of the left. Do folks like you ever care about honesty? The ballroom is $400 million to build, of which, all is fully donated. Keep crying. Here's a puppy. 🐕
You are often wrong but never in doubt.

Also:

“And by the way, no government funds,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office last November.

“These are all private individuals that put up a lot of money to build the ballroom,” he added. "Not one penny is being used from the federal government."

But the gleaming 90,000-square-foot space that he repeatedly said would cost the public nothing may ultimately leave taxpayers on the hook for $1 billion, due to new security enhancements that are tied to the project.

Security is not construction. You actually believe security at the WH is free?

WH security is over a billion every year. Y'all actually believe a single additional room is going to be more than that? GTFOOH.

I believe it will cost 1 billion. I believe those are tax payer dollars. I believe he is grifting worse than Jerome Powell ever thought about from budget busting perspective. I believe it does not matter what you are presented with because you will not believe it. It is how y'all are brainwashed/conditioned.

What part of "not one penny" do you not understand you cantankerous cuck?

“These are all private individuals that put up a lot of money to build the ballroom. Not one penny is being used from the federal government.” DJT

And it's not clear at all that the construction will be privately funded. Why are you ok with him using our tax dollars to pay for his vanity project that won't be done until the end of his lame duck year?

This is the dumbest of talking points that was sold to you immediately through the online GOP propaganda machine.

The DUMBEST.
Simmer down firehead.

What is your counterpoint? It’s too expensive? Cry about some of the actual waste. You were the one poo pooing DOGE, so let’s not act like you suddenly care about money.

And yes, Trump has been targeted 3 times. The President deserves to be safe, no? It will barely be ready by the end of Trumps term anyway.

The complaining about this is peak TDS. Seriously.

Counter point: DOGE apparently caused more harm than good. I see the defecits are still skyrocketing. So I guess DOGE failed, yes?
Counter point: Trump bull dozed the wing without any approval to do so. Also, he didnt' have funding for it and LIED to everyone about how he was paying for it.
Counter point: you will literally take any talking point GOP feeds you and spit it back out on this board as if its gold, with no thought on your point. You are a dumbass.

The ballroom wouldn’t have prevented that attack. The president will leave the White House from time to time. I was not opposed to the ballroom but a billion dollars is insane. We were told it was being built with private funds.

It’s a dumb line of attack.

Trump barely gets a use out of it at all.

Interesting that you think “Americans care way more about gas prices and the Iran War than they do about the ballroom so that means it’s no big deal that the ballroom is Trump’s primary focus” is a winning argument.

The amount of butthurt over the ballroom is laughable.

Lot's of valid criticism, but the Ballroom is a welcomed addition to the WhiteHouse. It's a bad look for democrats in my opinion. It's petty, and it dilutes the rest of your valid criticisms.

There is also much needed secure space to be added underneath for national security purposes and for local White House security needs. All needing expanded and modernized.

After destroying a wing of the White House.

What would’ve been this country’s reaction if Obama had done this?
The thread title is misleading because the 1 $billion for security, not for the ballroom itself. I don't know enough about if this is needed or if it will even get approved.

Other presidents have made changes t the White House. Obama built a basketball court where the tennis courts were located, they added a kitchen garden, refurbished the state dining room, refurnished the old dining room, redesigned the Oval Office, and added solar panels. I'm not sure what's different except the ballroom is more expensive.

I said I believe Trump should have received congressional approval for the ballroom but I also think lawsuits to stop it were stupid. The old wing was already demolished. Do they want it to be left in that state?

Why?
  • What were the issues that required a $1B security upgrade?
  • Why did Trump just unilaterally tear down the old building instead of proposing the need to the American people via Congress?
  • Why is this spending more important than reducing our deficit/debt burden?
True fiscal conservatives should be appalled at the lack of justification for a $1B upgrade.
