I think there should be a search committee formed by the BoT.

Why in the HELL would Mitch be trusted to make a good replacement when there are so many issues with his "leadership"?

Must be religiously aligned? Must also be a T-Totaller? Must have a wife and 1.5 kids?

We need to take our Athletic Program back.

I would assume Mitch isn’t part of the hiring process, though I could be wrong.

Hope you’re right. The above of the JMI nepo hire Rachel Baker, and Mitch groomed Mark Hill is what this suggests- and I would hope there would be as much or more blow back if that’s what they do.

Passes the baton on the corruption.

Its not a rumor. There was an article on ksr about the possibility of something like this being considered. This is exactly how rumors get started. Good grief.
It was clearly a joke based on something true. You'd think the two Mitch Barnharts with wigs would indicate that. :)

On the one hand administrative bloat is a scourge on universities and should be discouraged. On the other hand the modern college athletics landscape is clearly a very different job than the last time UK made a hire, and expecting to find a candidate who can lead both the athletics operations and financial operations may be unrealistic. It will be interesting to see the segregation of duties and chain of command, if they do ultimately make two hires. I wonder if reducing the financial management responsibilities of the AD is appealing to high level candidates. If the salary is reduced to pay for both positions that would certainly hurt.

What it says to me is they know this lunch mob will happen if they hire from within, but that’s always been the plan.
So, how do they get their guy in? I know, we will announce 2 hires. One from within, one from outside. Maybe that will not cause an uproar and we get our guy in.

What if the old weasel Capilouto doesn’t want to pick between his 2 most loyal AD employees…..Marc Hill and Rachel Baker?

So he creates 2 jobs so each can be an AD. DEI Rachel and oafish Hill rewarded for their longevity.

Hill’s job for the last 20 yrs was overseeing construction of athletic facilities on campus. Hmmmmm. And having a woman AD

would be so WOKE!

I’m thinking Eli’s “listening tour" began and ended at the JMI offices. 💩

I hope I’m wrong.
