What a weird weird post from a weird weird dudeI realize I said I’d made my last post here. So, I guess I lied.
But something needs clarified:
Only my wife knows how dumb I am.
But when it comes to you?
You’re clueless.
Probably to the extent that you can only imagine my last sentence just had one purpose: As a put down. Of you.
But since your limited IQ allows you to read (assuming someone isn’t reading to you because I’ve given your IQ greater significance than it merits), then read (or have someone read to you) the attached.
You can rant all you want to about how it doesn’t matter anymore. Or call people dumb who have the ability and desire to be historically accurate.
But my guess is that your knowledge of history goes back to whatever your first memory was. You do realize stuff happened before you were born don’t you?
I mean, my goodness, you (or whoever is reading this to you) could’ve queried what I attached here all on your own.
But instead you’re so obsessed with me and how dumb I am to have not figured that out yourself.
Are you ppl unable to read press releases, it will still have the memorial designation.Matt Jones on the KSR show, today, mentioned a comment Oscar Combs made that if UK sells the naming rights to Memorial Colosseum, Oscar is DONE with UK and said h s not ever again gonna have anything more to do with UK sports, PERIOD.
Matt said that he understood (which he evidently doesn’t) and theorized it was probably mostly an old person thing — but that Matt would be OK and it wouldn’t bother him that much if UK sold the naming rights to Memorial Colosseum.
The problem for me (and should be with anyone who supports Veterans, IMO) is that the Colosseum was built as a “memorial” to honor the lives of of more than 9000 Kentuckians who died defending our country during World War II.
And later, it was expanded to also honor World War I, Korean, and Vietnam veterans.
There are certain lines that I think people shouldn’t cross. One of these includes commercializing buildings or other tributes (things dedicated and MONEY RAISED to originally pay for them), honoring the deaths of veterans.
Heaven forbid the day comes when the Vietnam, Korean, and World War II memorials in Washington DC ever get renamed based upon some commercial sponsorship.
I realize this is a basketball Colosseum, but it does not change the fact that it was built in MEMORIAM to HONOR VETERANS who DIED defending our country.
I personally believe that any veterans should be outrageous about Matt Jones’ flippant and disrespectful agreement it’s no big deal. Either it is stupid of him because he can’t understand the significance, or it is despicable because he doesn’t care enough about people who were asked to give money to fund a building based on it being a tribute to fellow citizen he died to keep them free.
Especially for someone who always uses a marines greeting (Oorah) which he mispronounces as “ooo-wah”when someone calling says “first time long time“ — signifying the person calling in is someone who is never called in before.
This is a term that only a division of the military uses to greet brother or to indicate a willingness to engage engagement battle.
I think the guy needs to publicly apologize and also stop referencing any type of military tradition/tribute on his show.
I’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he just doesn’t understand that this isn’t some “old person“ issue (as he speculated) that instead, for many of ALL AGES, has a significance that borders on something sacred.
For some of us, it still matters that people defending our country, who put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and respect rights doubt have that sacrifice commercialized for the sake of making money.
Go back and hang out with your little circle of yes people. I’m not even talking about just this. The vast, vast majority of fans don’t give a flying **** about the name of Memorial or even knows it’s a war memorial stadium. I’m zero ways is it a “**** you!” to the fans.
Be smarter.
That Building was built in 1949 in honor of of Veterans who gave their lives & sacrificed for all.Matt Jones on the KSR show, today, mentioned a comment Oscar Combs made that if UK sells the naming rights to Memorial Colosseum, Oscar is DONE with UK and said h s not ever again gonna have anything more to do with UK sports, PERIOD.
