Ryan Hampton the kid likely to reclass is the only one I am aware of. And he seems to be an LSU lean.
I think we are focused on players who might leave the draft and we offer them the Stokes money. Other than that any big man that is alive that will actually come here will probably get an offer.
I have no inside knowledge but it looks to me like a Ryan Hampton reclass might be the only option for a star quality player.
Rumor has it Pope was in attendance looking for a backup center.
Such odd numbers. Very good 3 point shooter at 36% but shoot free throws at 58%.

I remember UNC having both Ronald Curry and Julius Peppers play both football and basketball. Peppers became the NFL star, so that's probably who you were thinking of. Both guys were 4 star or better in both sports (Curry was top 10 in both). Doubt any of our FB players are half as good at basketball as those guys.
I would really like to know who the people that say Pope only needs a couple more superstars to have a competent team think these couple superstars are going to come from. I think a lot of people are just in denial that this team is mostly complete and its trash. That's why they resort to calling fans mean and the delusion that this roster is closer to being a contender than being NIT bound. I would really like someone to explain how this roster is anything but abysmal for a third year coach at Kentucky. The only way you can make that argument is to hate on Kentucky and say that Kentucky is no longer relevant and never will be and the fans just need to get used to it.
I come in here just to see if there is any news, but nada. Every morning I peek in and nothing. Is Pope even working or is he just flying around the country / world on a private jet with his family site seeing?
I mean, we barely have enough players to have starters and one back up, and even then I think we're thin by position. The portal is done, correct? What's left? G-league and Euro flops? Hell, Pope flew to Israel to look at a kid who scored 0 points (WTF?) and still didn't get the job done.
While we all are smart enough to see that Pope is in serious trouble, no AD (new or old) is going to fire him for what looks like mediocre recruiting - the job is to recruit and then coach those players to win games. We all know this current group of players is going to look quite horrific and lose a LOT of games, but unfortunately the school that employs him has to let the season play out and give the man a chance to "coach" and see what he can accomplish with the kids he's retained or brought in.
So now we get to sit and wait until November and December's blowouts to say "see, told you so". Going into the season is going to be very hard for a lot of us that know basketball. Hopes and expectations will be at the lowest point since the last year of BCG (maybe lower).
