I'm not a big concert guy, so I don't keep up with who is on tour, but I remember in the early 2010s a friend of mine being so excited because she got tickets to George Strait's farewell tour. Has the mf'er been saying farewell for 15 years?
He’s like KISS. Just do a farewell tour for 30 years.

A George Strait concert is boring. Songs are great, but the concert is him standing there, holding a guitar at the mic. He Will briefly introduce the band at some point. That’s the concert. An 8 track will have more personality.
Maybe if he'd perform a break dance. One of the best concerts I ever saw was Bryan Adams with just an acoustic guitar, one microphone, and no chair to sit in. Was at the New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street in front of a jam packed crowd of about 3K. Played all of his rock songs acoustically and was absolutely fabulous. Guy is a real singer!

Tell you what. It'd be hard to hang it up when you're selling 90,000 tickets with the nosebleed over $600 a pop and going up quickly from there 20-30 times a year.
Heard a singer (Kenny Chesney, I think) say they used to make money from the music so the concerts were done to support record sales so concert ticket prices were cheap (er). However, they no longer make much from music sales so they make it from the concerts and that is why tickets are so expensive.

Honestly, this is what I expected from Zach Bryan Saturday. Based on the vibe of a lot of his music, I expected him to be standing there kinda sad-sack and stoic, but damn he was active and put on a great show. Band and supporting musicians were incredible.

That and a little brown water in the club level and it was a fun night.

I worked helping the roadies set up equipment at his last concert in the hump. He's tiny fellow and not very personable, but it was a good concert. Martina McBride opened for him and was just the opposite. We talked a few minutes, and she signed my backstage pass before she did her sound check. I still have it somewhere.

Agree. I saw him at a multiple act concert in Memphis many years ago. He and Bocephus were the big headliners. I went with my wife and her sisters and husbands. I am not a big country guy but I do love Hank. With George they could have just put a record player out there with a big lifesize cutout of George and put the greatest hit album on and the experience would have been the same. Bocephus came out and ran all over, played loud with electric guitars, expanded on his radio songs and even played a few covers of other artists. He basically rocked.

Funny thing though is as we were walking back to the car my wife's sisters, who are very country and not Rock people, loved George and thought Hank was a little too loud. I was like Hank was the only thing worth getting dressed up and paying for tickets. I could have listened to the rest of the concert on the radio for nothing.

Agree. Seen them both and they are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Hank played every instrument on stage. It was a great show.

My sister when to this show. She sent me this screenshot the next day. I think Charlie enjoyed himself.

If you're going to concerts where you need to see dancers, light shows, and jumping around, well, I hate to tell you this, but the music sucks.

When the songs are good, you don't need all that shlt.

That’s exactly what I said I was looking for at a concert.
