Billy D? Seems like a real possible option. I think he has a house there if I'm not mistaken. Frankly I'm not a huge fan of BD here anymore so it wouldn't bother me.

Do they make a run at May? I doubt he'd leave right now.

This may wipe Donovan off the board and take away any opportunity to bring him on and move off Pope early.

I doubt May leaves after a portal haul, but who knows. He seems to be in a really good spot and only two years in at UM.

yea i doubt may would leave now as well as Golden at Florida who had his chance at golden state opening, bulls also still open? florida opened the bank to be title favs this year... i see golden going to pros eventually soon though since I have heard that is his goal, and if it happens after next year and billy D still wants to go back to college I think he just picks going back to Florida over a potential Kentucky or Kansas opening...

That said, yea Billy D could very well easily take magic job back, he has lived so much of his life in Florida it only makes sense for the same reasons he would pick Florida college job over a Kentucky or Kansas opening

I don't understand why an NBA team would automatically want Golden or May due to success in college basketball, when college success is heavily dependent on recruiting, which isn't part of the NBA equation. Couldn't there be a college coach who would be stellar in the NBA, even though he is a poor recruiter in college? And vice versa?

If Dusty May or Todd Golden intend to transition to the NBA, this is the opportune moment to do so. The Orlando Magic possess a young, talented roster that recently pushed the top seed in the Eastern Conference to a seven-game series.

The team is anchored by an All-NBA talent in Paolo Banchero, supported by two additional players who averaged 20 points per game this season. Furthermore, the core is bolstered by highly capable contributors such as Wendell Carter Jr., Anthony Black, and Jalen Suggs, making this one of the most attractive vacancies in the league.

A house? Billy has an alligator farm just outside Orlando.

He took Oklahoma City to within 2 minutes of the Finals against Cleveland and beat Greg Popovich and San Antonio in the playoffs.
And after his first year never won a series again and missed the playoffs nearly as many times as he went. He'll surely have jobs of some kind to choose from and pro coaches often get recycled over and over, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that NBA teams are falling all over themselves to give him another head coaching job.
