So you’re telling me the post below isn’t insinuating that you’d rather be in a different conference because we’re, in your own words, “getting bent over” by a bunch of somebodies? Sorry but any person with any kind of common sense would make that leap.
Then what about this gym of a post? Talking about trading one set of problems for more problems? Your whole tone, and all of your context within the whole thread has talked about the BIG10 not bringing you joy as a football fan, and what’s the direct correlation of the move to the BIG 10 with football? you can’t use the history argument because before the Texas teams came to the Big 12 there was no history there either, History is something that can be built, however it will never be built while the administration is a joke.
I will concede a little on the funding support you’ve mentioned in your other response. It doesn’t make sense to keep shelling out money if the administration isn’t using to to better the program. The only argument I’d have with not spending money is the old saying “it takes money to win money” that fits well in this situation as well… look at the top spenders in football, those will be the ones you see in the CFP.Bad memories are very clear. My, and a lot of people's, disdain for the B1G has zero to do with it's competitiveness. I fully admit that we'd be "getting bent over" in the current Big 12 and SEC as well. For all our own administrative issues you mentioned, which we agree on.
I'd just rather be getting bent over in games against opponents I care more about (due to our history) or in places that I like better, or whatever else on the list of multiple things I like better about the Big 12 and SEC. Hence me noting the B1G has "more problems"

My disdain goes back to bringing the Texass schools in to the Big 8. The Big was the perfect setup. 8 teams and everybody played each other. All within a fairly easy drive. Times change. Once we got in to bed with UT and ATM it was just a matter of time until we got screwed. TO led the charge to the B1G because the writing was on the wall. This is true. A lot of Husker fans can't handle how coaches "really" talk. They need the coach to want to French Kiss them. They need to coach to be the "awww-shucks" type of coach.
A good majority of this board would shitt themselves if they sat in on a practice at Jenks High School where I cut my teeth.
I played for plenty of other schools in different states, and there is a clear cut difference between coaches who want to be good, and coaches who demand to be excellent.
So you have to curse and demean players to be a great coach? Mmmm. Maybe not. To each his own. I had a tremendous high school football coach. Not once did I hear him curse. He didn’t have to. He had been fired at his previous school for decking a kid who smarted off to him and we all knew it. All he had to do was give you the look. Great guy. Great coach.
