Missouri says hi.

Zero question the SEC would be a muuuuuuuuuch better conference for us than the B1G. If the money is comparable and the losses are comparable, give me the SEC ten ways to Sunday and it's not even close.
Why???
Nebraska fans have always wanted to get away from Oklahoma and Texas.

Texas, not Oklahoma. And I have a feeling Texas has been put in their place a little more in the SEC.

But, as to why?

Better culture
More history with the teams
Better recruiting footprint
Better travel for away games
Better people overall
Less rapey
Better politics
Better climate

Just to name a few.

Turns out there’s a reason the vast majority of NU fans absolutely loved the Matt Rhule hire

So, you would rather get consistently bent over by a bunch of "somebodies" (who we have no history with) and watch the people responsible line their pockets? Weird.
You're such a moron. So, let's take a 50 percent pay cut to play nobodies who we have zero history with. Hmm. Let's see. Play in the top conference prestige and money wise? Play with fellow blue bloods like Michigan, USC, Ohio State? Or play with a bunch of lame a$$ losers who will never sniff the success of the teams I listed? The money also goes to help other Nebraska programs you colossal idiot. But keep the dreams alive of going back to being a Longhorns cuck in the old Big 12. Beta boy.

Bad memories are very clear. Time hasn't wiped it away at all for me at all. Problem is, we just traded one set of problems for another and gained a whole lot more, as far as I'm concerned, as a football fan.

But, hey...money money money for all the people responsible, right?

Surprised you're awake this early...after the B1G money payout gang bang party you must have thrown last night whist getting butt raped with no lube by all your left wing buddies from all those super cool teams you listed. Talk about beta boy.

I replied to a thread you started. That's kind of how message boards work.

Do you have this level of severe lack of self-awareness in real life too, or is it just here?

Highly entertaining for the rest of us though, I'll give you that. Appreciate it.

Yeah, none of this money has brought me any personal happiness. Zero tangible joy whatsoever. That's really all I care about. Therefor, it's not something I choose to celebrate.

The most personal enjoyment I've gotten from the football program in a very very long time was our win at home 2 years ago against Colorado. Not a college football juggernaut. But a former Big 12 rival with some great history. Night game, lots of hype building up to it, all the theatrics. I don't know, for some reason I liked that better than getting butt raped by a bunch of bigger name programs (and some not so big names) while watching the people responsible for it count their money.

I know we're never going back to the Big 12 and I'm not even really pushing for it (although I wouldn't be opposed). But that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Your personal happiness is my nuts on your chin.🤔

Nah, but I do get some entertainment from watching you celebrate teams other than yours winning championships, and men other than yourself getting rich, all while calling other posters cucks and betas. Or when you call other posters unoriginal when all you do is post other people's tweets. That's funny. Sad, but funny.

Am I really seeing people complain about being in the BIG 10 because we have to play a more difficult football schedule?

if this is the case I feel like a lot of you need to drop the skirt and pull up your big boy pants… the problem isn’t the conference, it’s the whining about having to play too good of teams… we want to stop playing too hard of a schedule? Then go the the MAC, or maybe just get better so we’re the difficult team on their schedules.

this is a sad sad day to come on here and see a debate like this going on.

No...the Big Ten doesn't make teams better...it brings teams down.

Also, no one wants to drive 14 hours to see a road game.

I tend to disagree with this statement. Plus I don’t say the BIG 10 made teams better… but I will say it definitely doesn’t make teams worse… If that was the case how did Indiana win a National Championship? Weren’t they typically a bottom dweller in the BIG 10? How about the number of BIG 10 teams in the big dance? Or the success in the CFP? We can’t just take our ball and go home because we’re playing the big kids right now. We have to figure out a way to become the big kid.

Again the problem isn’t the BIG 10, it provides national coverage, it provides great money, and with that it opens up a National recruiting pool. Our problem is not owning our problems and fixing them. Our problem is blaming the BIG 10 for all our failures, instead of placing blame on the administration, the board of regents and anyone else that is refusing to fund the program, for always setting of a “quality” coach instead of trying to get the best. The problem is the thinking I’m not going to put money into a program until I see success… can you imagine if Mark Cuban had the philosophy with Indiana? You think they’d have came up like they did?

to be a big boy program again, we have to stop acting like the victim and start fighting our way to being a big boy program again. The teams that stay as loser are the ones that act like losers, and right now I see a lot of loser mentality in here.

Show me one post that's saying this?
If you’re looking for that statement verbatim then I can’t do that. However if your reading comprehension is even remotely good go back through pretty much this whole thread and you’ll find plenty of posts complaining about how losing more in the BIG 10. You’ll see plenty of people wanting to go back to the Big 12. The icing on the cake is the one literally complaining about the move not doing anything for him, because we’ve lost more in football and he doesn’t want to drive so far to away games.

I think he was referring to the majority of the rest of the conference, outside of the handful of teams you mentioned. It's a very top heavy conference.

Again the problem isn’t the BIG 10, it provides national coverage, it provides great money, and with that it opens up a National recruiting pool. Our problem is not owning our problems and fixing them. Our problem is blaming the BIG 10 for all our failures, instead of placing blame on the administration, the board of regents

Complaining about all the things that suck about the B1G is not the same thing as being scared of B1G competition or blaming the B1G for our failures, though. Don't confuse the issues.

The problem is the thinking I’m not going to put money into a program until I see success… can you imagine if Mark Cuban had the philosophy with Indiana? You think they’d have came up like they did?

You literally could not have used a worse example here. Mark Cuban did exactly that. He never gave a penny to their program UNTIL they got a competent coach. Cuban gave his money to the program BECAUSE of Cignetti. People who continue to support our program are doing in IN SPITE of Rhule. Anyone refusing to keep supporting our program is doing it BECUASE of Rhule. Like, doing exactly what Cuban did with Indiana. See the difference? This take is seriously so bad that it almost invalidates the entirety of the rest of your post.

to be a big boy program again, we have to stop acting like the victim and start fighting our way to being a big boy program again. The teams that stay as loser are the ones that act like losers, and right now I see a lot of loser mentality in here.

Agree, but again, don't confuse the issues.

You're the one lacking the reading comprehension, my friend. Other than the one guy complaining about the drive (valid complaint), not a single thing you've posted has been said in this thread.

"As part of his retirement package, former Commissioner Jim Delany totaled $5.82 million in bonuses and deferred compensation plus $600,000 in consulting fees. Delany retired on Jan. 2, 2020. Current Commissioner Tony Petitti reported more than $4.5 million in compensation."

Doesn't seem that egregious to me, compared to a head football coach making twice that to produce a 500 football team.

I'm guessing he was born in the mid 70s, pretty sparse history for Iowa/Nebraska in modern times, you had multiple decades long gaps.

View attachment 1280013

Minnesota had more consistent history but it was mostly Nebraska beat downs.

Correct, which puts me, if anything, on the older side of the average age. So, again I stand by my statement. @dinglefritz has a tendancy to just kind of throw things against the wall without really thinking it through. He sometimes doesn't even know what year it is 😂

I remember sitting with my father and watched the 1964 come from behind win against Minnesota 21-16.

The year before Devaney had Nebraska wear red pants for the first time on the road in Minneapolis, that is how the tradition of wearing red pants for away games started. So I remember all those games against the Gopher including a family reunion in Minneapolis in 1983.

Devaney was 8-0 against the Gophers.

You’re the one fixated on history.

What kind of "I know you are but what am I" response is that?

It's one of the (many) downsides to playing in the B1G. Which is what this thread is about.

I mean, if it makes you feel better to tout some ancient history with a couple teams, then fine. I'm simply stating the fact that we had a lot more recent history (in most of our lifetimes) with a lot of other teams not in the B1G. Hence the manufactured fake iowa "rivalry"

Just facts buddy.

I always hated the Big Ten growing up, I thought they were lame pretentious tool bags, still are but Nebraska is stuck with them now. The West Coast teams make the conference more interesting at least.
