Pope Flying to Israel

Highlights have a poor man Karl Malone feel. Plays with authority, strong, picks and pops, can knock down the three.
Pope showed last cycle he can identify talent. Unfortunately, he just cant land anyone.
WTH happened to the guy pope went to Israel to see? The guy who scored no points? What a big waste of time and resources. If BBN doesnt get off their thumbs fast and demand change with their pocket book with their voices if we are not willing to do that well id say our tradition is finished. It’s been on life support this century. And there is no one waiting in the wings to fix it.
More has to be done by fans to ensure we hire an AD who has basketball connections. Someone who will come in and tell it like it should be. Priority is to get Kentucky back to the top of college basketball.. if that dude, the new athletic director is gonna make football number one or even even forget about any more greatness from our bb program. We need someone to come in who recognizes the tradition. The history, who is effusive in their praise of our history. Well if that happens, we’re gonna be just an ordinary University with average football team average basketball team maybe do well and volleyball or tennis?
The problem is many have been screaming this and every year it’s seems BBN grows more and more apathetic. The trend does not bode well for Kentucky to get back to winning. The entire AD search is being done in private. Eli is a snake. I don’t know though between Eli and Barney even sending those guys out it may be too late. We needed to fight for better than pope. But bc of Barney’s psychological trick to bamboozel UK fans into accepting pope by playing the nostalgia card.
The last thing ill add. I’m sick of how our UK media hasn’t challenged Barney hardly at all. It took getting a governor involved to address this corruption going on at the Barney Eli levels. It’s been a while since that stuff has been exposed. And with a good media I feel like we will be on the up tick now after cleaning house. Which to me means Lexington media and UK media top to bottom need to clean house too.
The question is who is willing to step up and make sure bb is the priority for a new AD. Who’s gonna ensure this? Which boosters do we have that are going and pounding the desk and Eli’s office demanding an athletic director who has basketball connections? Or an athletic director who is a great administrator from Kentucky who loves the basketball program. So we don’t have to worry as fans the athletic director is an outsider and has no care for our basketball program. This is where you hire a guy from Kentucky not to run a sports program but to run the entire athletic department in order to bring Basketball back to Life.
Go talk to pat Riley see who he recommends. Talk to Tashawn Prince talk to Vogel Vogel might make a good athletic director. We need a bold move that puts the spotlight back on Basketball. This may be the last chance. A bad hire at the athletic director spot will be the end UK basketball as a dominant force. Folks think pitino is too old to coach at Kentucky. Well hire him as the athletic Director.. honestly, though the man would be a great hire he would get us back. That’s what I’m talking about. Bold move.. maybe half the fan base would hate it at first, but the nostalgia will reel them in quick and if that doesn’t work when pitino starts winning that will do it.

Your 100% correct , just give it another 5 injury free years and we will be teed up for success. BTW we aren't allowed to complain either about losing 10+ games per year or being made fun of by pundits, players and coaches all across the country.
If we complain or have high expectations then no top recruits will want to play here because were mean smh. Where are all the know it alls that predicted a top 5 off season haul with plenty of elite talent. I guess the reason Stokes, Collins, Wright , Freeman and dozens of other exceptional players rejected us is because of the fans.
What a absolute debacle . Pope has made it even worse by avoiding the media because he cant handle tough questions and being accountable for flat out failing.
Interesting the mental gymnastics you do by constantly defending Pope yet you are negative on the recruiting by Stein in other threads . We should pay Stein to help us recruit for our hoops program .

Well if history stays the same that means we are dead last in that group. I bet the other 2 schools didn't travel to the middle east to offer him. Amazing these other coaches can get guys signed by just doing a zoom call. What a waste of $.
