Random thoughts/reactions: 1) Duffy is better when not overused. And the team is waayy better when he is passing versus when he is scoring. 2) I would be running long sets with whatever passing and screening is needed to get Pietramalla's hands free. He is the best lefty shooter I have seen since Ryan Brown. 3) I like how the offense runs with Bair and/or Harshbarger in the game. They are glue guys who dont seem to care about their usage rates. Ball moves better when they are involved. 4) Agree about Wambach. But that means that Tyler Spano is an even bigger stud... cause he wore Brady out.
So, there are four outcomes after the 2 games (UNC-DUK, ND-SYR) this weekend. Someone check my math, but here what I believe are the implications for tourney seeding:
UNC and ND win. UNC is #2 seed, playing SYR. Good outcome
DUK and ND win. UNC is #2 seed, playing SYR. Good outcome
UNC and SYR win. UNC is #1 seed, playing ND. Bad outcome
DUK and SYR win. This one is unclear to me. SYR would be #1, w/UNC, ND and UVA tied for #2. Since UNC beat UVA, ND beat UNC and UVA beat ND, how would they be seeded? If goal differentials are used, UNCs 5 goal loss to NC means they are prob #4. That would be a good outcome, because would rather play SYR than ND.

I believe any tie among three teams is settled by national rankings, but I'm not sure which poll they use. Also, this is just speculation on my part. I haven't looked it up anywhere.
They should have waited to after the season to give him the extension. It was doing good before he got the extension. I thought you would have to work hard first, reevaluate after the season, then decide to give a person a raise or extension. The powers that be at UNC do the opposite. They give the extension first while the season is still going on, then the HC can relax now and go back to mediocracy again. That appears to be happening with him. That is dump to do that IMO.

I agree. That was very disappointing and what really sucks it was at our stadium.
So i looked up ACC bracket and standings. Dook, who punked gire joseph, didn’t even make the tournament. They finish last at 1-3. haha but their only win tho.
Fighting Gire Josephs got a break imo matching up against Syracuse in the Semis at home. I take it we are 2 seed on the tiebreaker head to head vs them and UVA.

I didn’t see the game. Hard to project men’s lacrosse game-to-game. Perhaps you recall maybe 2 yrs ago when we did the same to d00k at home fwiw. Years prior to that, High Point beat both UVA and d00k in the regular season and didn’t make the tournament.
The offense is an absolute shitshow. Multiple turnovers in transition. Undisciplined penalties.
Great win! Piling up big wins this year.

Same way we dominated a much better dook team two years ago after we were eliminated from the ACC tournament.
Guys looked past the game. They are kids. It happens. All goals still in front of them,
We win and Princeton loses we are a 2. Maybe a two if we win and Princeton wins. Bottom line- outside chance at 1, no worse than3 if we win. Probably 5 if we lose.

(And yes, I often have to watch games after they’re finished - tonight I watched my son’s team advance to the elite 8 in the state tourney, and then watched the recorded game)

Tough, gritty win against a team permitted to take cheap shots against our attacking players all game.

Read a more detailed article. If Princeton wins and we win they are 1 and we should be 2. If Cornell wins and we win we are probably 2 and Cornell 3 and Princeton 4. ND is still 1 in that scenario.
Lars has done an amazing job with his team second half of the season. This game is a huge opportunity to take a big step forward as a program.
