How many trolls on here have 2 or more accounts?? There are days I think the hairy bulldog might be running all the troll accounts.

Some of you people need to get over yourselves. I’m not a troll. Nothing that guy said leads me to believe he is a troll. How many trolls on here have 2 or more accounts?? There are days I think the hairy bulldog might be running all the troll accounts.
In this new multi-billion dollar world of collegiate athletics, coaches are rich, players are rich, and money's flying everywhere. All while fans that are paying $1,000 for season tickets are sitting elbow to elbow on 17ing metal bleachers.

This is not an alternate account for me. I’m not related to either of those people. I just read the thread. LmfaoLooks like this is identity #3 for bulldoghair and Anon201138?
The P4 is the super league. It will eventually break away under some type of umbrella with a commissioner. All teams in the P4 plus ND will be in it. The SEC/Big 10, etc., will remain, but under a bigger umbrella. Think of it as the NFC and AFC, under the NFL umbrella. My brother works for Fox Sports. He’s not on TV but in a production role.
This thing is going to a super league. He said he’d bet his firstborn on it. There’s already debate about how many teams are going to be in it. 32 has been discussed but then you’d have to start talking about leaving out places like Illinois, South Carolina, NC State, Kansas State. He doesn’t think 32 would be agreed upon, but 48 probably would, which means 20 power 4 programs get the axe. 56 MAYBE. The TV contracts expire in 2031, so this is about 5 years away.
Any program that gets left out of the league is screwed. No more, or way less, TV $$. And it’s not just 100% about wins and losses. For example he thinks with 48, Syracuse would make it over say a Wake Forest. Because of the media market. Mississippi is probably the smallest media market of any state that matters in this.
We can’t get left out. The number one thing is winning games obviously, but beyond that we need people in our administration to be 100% prepared to lobby for us. What can the administration do to help us get in?
I just highly doubt it breaks that cleanly. I don’t see a scenario where Purdue, Wake Forest, Iowa State, us just automatically get in with the Ohio State’s and Alabama’s because we were all in the P4. I think we will need to do something, preferably wins on the field, to get in.The P4 is the super league. It will eventually break away under some type of umbrella with a commissioner. Well, my brother who went to State said we are in!My brother, who went to State and has no incentive to lie, said that if it went to 48 tomorrow, we aren’t in.
If we can string along a couple good seasons, like 8-4/9-3 and maybe our losses are late and we spent the first couple weeks of the playoff rankings in the conversation, we would be in.I'd like to see a poll on this, as to what our people think would be the outcome.
I think we are in serious danger of NOT being included.
The SEC and Big 10 are never giving up power, they are not kicking any team nor adding any teams (exceptions being ND and UNC), they will band together with the Big 12/ACC and be under a larger umbrella, but the SEC/Big 10 will remain and hold all the power.I just highly doubt it breaks that cleanly. Man forget what I even said about my brother. It’s obvious it’s going to a super league. While I probably don't believe the premise of the OP, one thing is true - the head coach we hire this November is the most important hire in school history. We absolutely have to get it right. We can't settle for a no-name coordinator.
For the first time, we agree. Love when things switch to topics of agreement. The next football coach is the most important hire in our sports history. No question. I also agree winning would cure all the evils.Man forget what I even said about my brother. It’s obvious it’s going to a super league.
Regardless, your contention about the new coach is correct. Neckbeard isn’t going to get it done. What I am trying to say is that we should offer the new guy $10m a year to come. If we can get a guy to get us back to being relevant over the next couple seasons we could make the super league. $50m contract for a coach to get into the league would be a bargain when missing out on the super league and all that TV money is considered.
The SEC and the Big 10 are going to hold no leverage in this situation. That’s my entire point. There isn’t going to be an SEC or Big 10. There will be a southern/coastal conference which will be a lot of SEC teams + Florida State, Clemson, others. “Conferences” will be like the NFC/AFC.The SEC and Big 10 are never giving up power, they are not kicking any team nor adding any teams (exceptions being ND and NC), they will band together with the Big 12/ACC and be under a larger umbrella, but the SEC/Big 10 will remain and hold all the power.

I don't think you understand how wielding power works. The SEC and the Big 10 are going to hold no leverage in this situation. That’s my entire point. There isn’t going to be an SEC or Big 10. There will be a southern/coastal conference which will be a lot of SEC teams + Florida State, Clemson, others. “Conferences” will be like the NFC/AFC.
For example CBS used to have the rights to the biggest SEC game—they had negotiated the rights for the 2010-2015 seasons in 2004. No one in TV media is has negotiated a new 2030 contract yet, because they all know it’s going to a super league. They’re trying to figure out how to divvy the biggest games. And they know they can’t lay claim to a conference like the ESPN/SEC or Big 10/Fox because those conferences are no longer going to exist.
Yes, I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I think that the SEC will agree to be ____ southern/coastal conference and accept Florida State, Clemson, and a couple others. I think the Big 10 will likely accept Arizona State, Tx Tech, and a couple others.I don't think you understand how wielding power works.
You think UF, UGA, TN, Bama, etc., are going to give up the power they hold (which resides in the SEC office in B'ham) to join a different league where they may or may not hold as much power?
It would be stupid to do that. Same with TOSU. Michigan and Penn State. These conferences can stay together (and will), but be under a larger umbrella that handles things like player eligibility, rules enforcement, TV contacts, etc. The SEC/Big 10 will basically run that umbrella organization.
No way the academic snob presidents of the Big 10 accept either of those schools.Yes, I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I think that the SEC will agree to be ____ southern/coastal conference and accept Florida State, Clemson, and a couple others. The SEC has no teeth in this. Neither does the Big 10. They don’t own the TV networks that broadcast it.
When the playoffs were expanded, Sankey and Delaney from the Big 10 were absolutely against it. Then the networks said okay how about no more TV money and they folded like a lawn chair. Coaches, AD’s, and conference execs don’t run this sport. The TV networks do
We probably can’t afford the membership dues to be IN IT!He’s not saying that MSU wouldn’t get in because he’s just having fun saying it. What he is saying is that small market teams that lose a lot aren’t getting in. If Ole Miss were terrible we’d get in over them.
But when he says it’s going to a super league, I believe it 100%. You’ve already got CFB talking heads discussing it. And he literally sits in meetings with these executives. They are discussing TV contracts, the amount of money that would be paid to each school, etc.
It will be negotiated in 2029-2030, with the initial super league season being likely 2032. We simply cannot afford for them to leave us out.
We need to make a playoff run in the next couple years, to do something to make us, as a smaller market team, nationally relevant.
I’m 100% sure I don’t.I'm just not sure that I can anymore. In this new multi-billion dollar world of collegiate athletics, coaches are rich, players are rich, and money's flying everywhere. All while fans that are paying $1,000 for season tickets are sitting elbow to elbow on 17ing metal bleachers.
The schools that are on the cusp would be begging to get in. Northwestern and Vandy are probably the most academically superior P4 programs. Their athletic directors would shine the ESPN guys shoes to get in.No way the academic snob presidents of the Big 10 accept either of those schools.
I expect Virginia and Cal to be the next 2 teams in the Big 10, or North Carolina if they can get it done.
This is absurd!Miss State would get in the super conference before Ole Miss based on our brand and viewership - which is higher on a per game average over the past 10 years when we have sucked and they are winning. And our brand is definitely stronger outside the state of Mississippi.
But Miss State is NOT getting in a super conference.
But you can relax, because OM dang-sure ain't gettin' in. Their viewership is smaller and their brand outside the state is terrible, based largely on historical perception of the both team and the university.
they will always be considered cheaters and a racists institution. A new 32-56 team product could in no way afford the association.
Unless they want to make them some sort of foil - and it that case, we can welcome back the Colonel.

I'm assuming you're just trolling.Yes, I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I think that the SEC will agree to be ____ southern/coastal conference and accept Florida State, Clemson, and a couple others. I think the Big 10 will likely accept Arizona State, Tx Tech, and a couple others.

The SEC and the Big 10 do not own the product. The networks who pay the TV money to those schools own the product. This is no different than any other pro sports league. If TNT or ESPN looked at the NBA and said if you’re not gonna have ___ playoff, we’re not going to agree to the next media rights deal to televise the games. The NBA would do what they asked in two seconds.I'm assuming you're just trolling.
Big 12/SEC hold the power, they hold the product. They are not giving up that power. The SEC and ESPN work very closely together, that will not change. Everyone knew the playoffs, then expanded playoffs were coming, (and another expansion is coming) Sankey is better off playing sly, coming off against any expansion, that way he has more leverage. He'd be stupid to be a vocal supporter, Sankey is the smartest guy in the room.
Hopefully you’re right. If we get it in, it’s because the entire SEC is in. Hopefully mid-tier schools like Auburn, Tennessee, A&M understand without the bottom tier schools, THEY become the bottom tier.We will be in the super conference. We have our seat at the table.
I just dislike the entire concept. Because if you have say a 32 or 48 team super league with 12 (or more) in the playoff, then it literally just becomes nearly identical to the NFL. Teams going 9-3/8-4, similar to going 11-6 or 12-5 or something in the NFL, and still making the playoffs. Having a national champion who lost four games doesn’t sit right with me.Hopefully you’re right. If we get it in, it’s because the entire SEC is in. Does she have a brother who also attended msu, and might have some inside information?Sankey daughter attended and graduated from MSU. So yeah he’s got a little skin in the game. Add to that he is going to to at all cost protect all chater members of the SEC.
Or Ole Miss. If you are not just trolling you need to start including them because if this isn't just a big troll for you to continue to compare and contrast us with Ole Miss recent success and our struggles then NO team from little ole Mississippi is getting in based on some collusion driven super league that tv is working on behind the scenes.I just dislike the entire concept. And while yes it would generate billions of dollars just like the NFL does, it would make the regular season so watered down.
Our problem is that for an example, an Ohio State’s president is going to be sitting there in negotiations saying look we shouldn’t have to subsidize Purdue and Rutgers football programs, we should not have to share the TV money with them. Georgia, TX, AL, LSU would say the same thing about us or Kentucky.
I am not trolling here. Ole Miss would be in the exact same position as us if we swapped recent football seasons. I’ve literally said that on this thread multiple times. If Clemson had a good couple years and South Carolina continues to be bad, they’d be in the same boat. There’s 10+ P4 teams in this same situation, I could use any of them as an example.Or Ole Miss. If you are not just trolling you need to start including them because if this isn't just a big troll for you to continue to compare and contrast us with Ole Miss recent success and our struggles then NO team from little ole Mississippi is getting in based on some collusion driven super league that tv is working on behind the scenes.
What would keep us out keeps them out which is eyeballs and ratings which MS does not have relative to their super conference friends. Can't believe you drug this out so long. I'm almost embarrassed that I played along.
I hope it goes to 24, because then I think we could definitely make it soon, it would give great exposure to us before a decision on a super league might be made.A 24 team college football playoff will be college football saving grace. We need to cheer hard that these negotiations go that way. It will give the TV networks what they need and keep college football from going the route of a 32 team super league.
