For you guys that use Cspire for cellular, how does it work outside of the state?

I’ve always had AT&T but need to add a line for my daughter. It appears Cspire may be a little cheaper. But I’m concerned about Cspire working well outside of the state.

I had CSpire for many, many years when I lived in Starkville. Moved to Gulf Shores and service continually declined. Dropped calls, coverage issues, closed local office. Had to change to AT&T and all issues resolved. I am convinced that CSpire’s focus is fiber. I have their fiber in Gulf Shores and it is awesome compared to what I had with Mediacom.

Phone and GPS generally works OK for me. Internet can be extremely slow at times if not on wifi. I stay with it mainly through inertia and the fact it's the cheapest plan I've found. Really, if I'm out of state I'm not usually on my phone all that much anyway though other than GPS.

Cspire sucks traveling!!! I would go to Florida or even TN and have no service. It's sketchy anywhere and everywhere outside of Mississippi but do not think about leaving the USA using Cspire. Just plan on buying a burner phone when you get to where you are going.

I was going out of the country last Christmas to Costa Rica. I called Cspire to ask what I needed to do and they said nothing. When I landed anywhere outside the US, I would get a text from Cspire that offered me options for servcie. I looked up the cost online and they were going to charge me $20 a day per phone which pissed me off but I was going to spend it.

That's expensive for some texting, navigating and translating devices but guess what. Not only did I not get that text, I could not even log onto my account using WIFI or get them to answer my phone call. They blocked me while I was out of country from even calling them. WIFI only that trip, luckily we were traveling with my wife's daughter and her family and they had T-Mobile which we used for navigating and translations. I downloaded some limited translating apps but they operated somewhat limited when not connected to internet.

I think they paid $10 a week per phone for texting, internet with limited calling or something ridiculously cheap compared to Cspire's out of US prices.

I called Cspire as soon as I landed back in the States to figure out what happened. They just said they don't offer service in Costa Rica. It would have been nice to know about that when I called them before I left. .

We dropped Cspire and went to T-Mobile. They offered free iPhone 15s and saved us $40 a month on our bill. Service is a bit sketchy in the back woods but it's good enough locally with Wifi support and it's far superior traveling.

I was w/ Cease Fire for 13 years w/ 2 lines. We eventually had kids and added phones for them and I had to move them all to AT&T because it got to where every time we went out of town our phones wouldn't work, all 4 lines. I picked up AT&T on all 4 lines and now probably 14 years later, we are all 4 still w/ AT&T. Kids are in two different cities and me and the wife in another and no issues. We have used all 4 of them on the International plan in multiple cities around the world and they just work. I don't think I've ever even had to call them for anything. My only complaint is game day on campus is not good but isn't as bad as it was say 5 years ago.

I drove from Bradon to Pheonix AZ, back to Tucson, up to MOAB through Navajo Nation and never loss signal. Last year I left Brandon Drove up to Daniels WV and never loss signal. Maybe in the tunnels white driving through VA. That is with Cspire.

You may have to define "work well". I'm Verizon now specifically because I travel and for years found CSpire coverage lacking for data. If you are out of their footprint, you are connecting via an agreement with other cell companies and I'm convinced that those companies rate limit data for non-customers. Hotspot was always slow, and at the time, if I got a call it booted me off my hotspot. I think that part is fixed now. Making calls, generally not an issue but you will occasionally find dead zones.

ETA: I keep my wife on CSpire so that we are never both without good service. That has been a pretty good combo when we travel.

Turrible. Don’t do it if you ever plan to use a phone outside MS.

I couldn’t access the web or send texts while sitting in the middle of Austin. And it didn’t work much better in NOLA either.

You guys should not be surprised about out of state service. They showed me a map with their coverage area when I signed up with them. They are cheaper than other plans and you get what you pay for. We use my wife's I-phone when out of state.

Short of it sucking at every Mississippi Sate sporting event I've attended, it has performed well everywhere I've travelled in the SE US.

I switched to US Mobile. You can choose which carrier you want out of the big 3 and you can also change (takes about an hour) if you want.

They have lots of other features also like 2nd lines, international roaming, etc. I have 2 lines in my phone. AT&T and Verizon. If the data on my AT&T line is slow I just switch to Verizon for data. ( works great at football and baseball games)

Yearly plans are a smoking deal. $299 for the first year.

Consider Visible if you’re looking for a less expensive option. It uses Verizon network.

I will say xfinity has been great. It uses Verizon but it’s only beneficial from a cost standpoint if you have their home internet.

That guy can sit and talk about cell phone plans for 90-120 minutes per week and regularly does so in his live videos. I don't have a clue what you can talk about that long weekly concerning phone plans but he does it.

Same. Even overseas. Not one problem in the last 6-8 years.

Times are tough. Dudes online here are repping a side hustle attacking a great Mississippi based company with affiliate links trying to get $2 per new wireless customer at Random Cheap Rate Wireless of the Month dot com. You'd do better with a sign standing on the street corner asking for a dollar. Just saying. You'll hit your quota much faster.

Look into Puretalk.com. Great service and it's saved me lots of $$. I travel the country and it's not failed me, even in Europe. I pay $60 for two lines/month.
