A few of them wanted to keep Stoops,.and Cal vehemently and called us names then. We have some that are more loyal to the UKAA than anything. I don't know if they are friends with the administration, running PR for them, or have some mental malfunction like Stockholm Syndrome that makes them grovel to authority.Guarantee one of the guys still wanting to keep Pope is Nitro.
No we are not.We are stuck with Pope for at least the next 2 years
Their was a select few that didn’t know it was time to get rid of stoops. The same 4-5 guys that defended stoops are now defending Pope and throwing fits on here daily. It’s funny to read. It's a replay of Mark Stoops last year.
1. We all knew it was time to move on from Stoops
2. But a bad financial forced another wasted year due to Mitch
3. Stoops was on hot seat and couldnt' get kids to come play...so he got a ton of plan B kids that weren't SEC level....and got kicked all around by UL, Vandy, Tennesee, etc... and inevitably got fired the next year regardless.
Is this any different....just plug in Pope for Stoops...Mitch's stupid finger prints are the same.
Dusty May replaced his entire team and won a national championship. The centerpiece of his new roster was a transfer recruit that Pope whiffed on.I understand. I am just not upset that he is getting a third, if not a fourth, year. I cannot help but wonder if removing him too quickly would harm the program more than benefit it, especially as relates to potential replacements. Pope is keenly aware of expectations, so we'll see what happens.
This. I wanted Cal out years ago but when the move finally happened I wanted Hurley or Oats. Either would have been perfect here.At the time I wanted Cal out and Oats in. What I didn't want was to have Cal out and not know who was next.
Option B is close enough. There's another option that should be listed. "I wanted Calipari out and want to see how Pope's 3rd season goes before making a decision."
That’s fair. Nothing wrong with what you’re doing as a fan. I’d like for pope to prove me wrong but I’m about positive he’s not going to make it. Some coaches just aren’t meant to coach at major programs and he’s one of them. His personality, recruiting, and struggles with the media are too much to overcome here.I was ready for Cal to go. I don’t want Cal back. I did not like the Pope hire. I want Mark Pope to succeed. I really hope he does, but it’s not looking good to me. I think the job is too big for his personality and coaching style.
Assuming we have a season equal or worse to last year, it’s time to move on and Pope got a fair chance. I harbor no ill will towards him and will not scream for his head all year. I hope he shoves this post up my *** with a banner this year. I just don’t see it happening and his lack of recruiting elite talent will likely be his undoing as UK coach.
I gotcha . My point was whether some coaching candidates would shy away from taking the job, if they felt the window for success could be as little as two (2) years ... just a thought I had. I do not pretend to know ... of course.Dusty May replaced his entire team and won a national championship. The centerpiece of his new roster was a transfer recruit that Pope whiffed on.
I disagree but it's not my poll so all good.Option B is close enough.
We all need to debate like this right here.I disagree but it's not my poll so all good.
THIS , only difference is Pope is a good guy and Stoops was an *** hat douchebagIt's a replay of Mark Stoops last year.

I don’t blame Pope for taking the job. It’s his dream job. The issue is that Mitch should never have offered it to him because he had nowhere near the resume to qualify him for it, and he is just not that guy. Not yet, and we will never know if he could be capable of it, because he’ll be gone in a year. Cal was right about some things, this place isn’t for everyone, and you can’t be hidden here. Pope is finding that out.I gotcha . Exactly. I have no business dating a super model, but if she offers I'm taking it and giving her the most below average weinering of her life until she's done with me.I don’t blame Pope for taking the job. And what is the point with pope in charge for the next 11 months!!!!!!!!!!, no question about that. It's like saying I really don't like the scenery around here so Im gone poke myself in the eye with an ice pick but the scenery doesn't change. There isn't a single answer in this poll that shows HATE towards Pope. Only people wish we had someone else or kept Calipari. If UK fans HATE Pope then they are not real fans. Your confusing the two.
