A future revival of population and football dominance in SWVA?

Not directly football related, but it sure would be nice to see life in the region again. Along with potential financial success, this may ease the exodus we’ve seen for decades as coal mining has been decimated there.

And before someone says “MY TEAM DOES GOOD!”, yes I know there are successful programs, but this story may lead to growth and even more success in the future.

Would be nice, but we probably need to wait until the study for Virginia comes out.

That map seems to dwindle the further south it goes.

Had small shouldered Old Testament types from the northeast invade WV and SWVA for over 100 years promising a better life with coal while they took 90 plus percent of the profits and left when the coal started drying up. The land is largely destroyed in many parts and the families are stuck there in some cases living with carcinogens running rampant for decades.

If Lithium became a thing for Appalachia, I would bet the locals would be far more aggressive in assuring long term livelihood and longevity for the actual people living there instead of a guy named "Rockefeller" who cares more about Manhattan and Tel Aviv than he does Charleston, Beckley, Bluefield, or Big Stone Gap.
