I hated all those walks
True. Too many HBP also, but it was midweek and many of those arms are way down the list. I thought the ump might be squeezing a bit. On the positive side we did minimize the pain by keeping the ball in the park.

Billingsley was my only real concern last night because that marked consecutive bad outings and we are going to need him down the stretch. On the other hand, Burns was absolutely filthy in the 8th and 9th. Hopefully he can keep that going.

Yeah, looked like Dane was just going to be a matchup specialist, but he got stretched out last night and handled it. Good sign.

I am so in Billingsley's corner, but he is just a constant 2 steps forward and 2 or 3 back this season. I don't think he's going to be safe to depend on in the postseason.

Their results have been really good. If you reversed the 4 games and gave them 4 wins they'd probably be a Top 8 seed. We are their kryptonite and I love it.
they are not as improve as everyone is making them out to be. Even before all the so call improvement they beat Texas one game. I am just saying they are the same team we played a few weeks ago. It' not reverse and we are not their kryptonite. We just a better baseball team.

I don't know if they improved after our series, but they did go on a nice run in the SEC going 7-2 the next three weekends. I think that's what they were pointing to.

Still more concerned about our bats than our pitching, but we had several good at bats last night in key moments.
Yeah. Bats seem to slowly waking up lately though. Pitching seems to be maybe falling off a little. If this team can ever put it all together it will be dangerous in postseason.

We went 6-0 then 0-6 and just went 6-0 again in SEC games. I guess we can add one more last night. So, did we improve? I have not said ole miss is not a good team. I just said they are not improved.

Yup. It seems like just normal baseball streakiness. Our record doesn't look like normal streakiness, but if you look at how close the games were, it's not obvious we really changed much or even played better or worse. Hell, if you look at the competition, you could argue we were actually playing slightly better in our 6 game slide than our 6 game win streak.

Yeah, I'd like to be a clear Top 4 team like we were before Georgia, but the encouraging thing to me is we're always competitive. Only given up double digit runs once this year and that was the 10-9 loss to UGA where we almost came all the way back.
