Any negativity thrown Pope's way is deserved. You don't get a pass here as far as I'm concerned. This program is in the sh!tter right now, and he's the biggest turd in the pot.

Pope took the job and once it passed year 2 it’s all on him now. The guy should have never been hired and I think BBN has been pretty nice too nice. I think pope should step aside now. He failed. All his money was on stokes and now he needs a miracle. We need to move on while pope waits on that miracle

Who would want to come here?—a coach with a set of nuts and desire to be the best. And no, UK isn’t likely getting any coach that has won a title away from their current school. That’s only happened twice. Norm Sloan and Roy Williams. But there will be a fit out there. It just depends on whether the administration screws up the AD hire or not.
This reaction is absolutely no different than any other major program in any sport when it becomes apparent that it's time to move on from a coach. Fan support and intense criticism from those same fans is what keep great programs at that level.
What kills me is all the people saying we had no shot at Stokes are now suddenly outraged that we didn’t get him? How is that possible when you supposedly already knew we had no shot? How can you be mad now then that what you already knew came true?
I hate it as much as anyone but we still have options to put together a good roster. I’ll pass judgement once all the spots are filled. We need a big splash though that’s for certain.

Maybe he should have resigned if he didn’t think he was up to the job? Everything pointed to disaster but he ignored it anyway and now we’re suffering. Why should we have to suffer for his arrogance?

Uk basketball just isn’t even important to me anymore and I hate it. I love this site and still visit it daily but I’m just so sick of not being Kentucky. It took dumbass hiring Bcg first to fix the mistake. Cal got us back but faded, in part due to the contract. We ran cal off with no plan. It was time for cal to leave or change, wish he would have changed but here we are. I miss these guys announcing knowing it was going to be us.
Thats the funniest part. The ones who kept saying Stokes wasn't coming are throwing the biggest fit lol. Most people thought he was going to Kansas, dont understand the outrage

Who’s the splash guys to get?? I am as optimistic as anyone but this roster at this point has a lot of “ifs”. I know the Iowa st guy is out there, but who else is a splash guy we can get? Idk, just asking since it seems most of the top guys are already signed.

There are splash Euros, and splash Reclass guys plus Momcilovic. I’ve posted them numerous times, I’d assume we sign at minimum 2 more this week now that the staff can move on from the Stokes saga.

It’s toxic to our program because the 10% of our fan base that has no clue about anything want to get on here and rant and rave and act like imbeciles. It’s right there for everybody to see and laugh at. I occasionally like to talk basketball with people who have half a brain, but there’s not much of that here. Whether it’s children, or what I figure is just loud mouthed dumba$$e$, it’s complete poison. There is no moderation, therefore it’s out of control.
I appreciate the folks who are considerate and like to talk intelligently about Kentucky Wildcats basketball, but it’s gotten too far off the rails. I’ll miss talking to some of you guys and gals, but the rest can soak in their own misery until they wake up one day and realize it wasn’t worth it.
