Remember reading early on we were after a player that lost interest thinking he would have to play with Stokes - not much of a team guy I guess
He took a job with Pope. You may be on to something.
Convincing themselves that McBride is better than what we had last year and that Stokes doesn’t matter. We pivot to the next savior that we can whiff on.

Pope whiffing left and right and our new assistant is tweeting at recruits an hour before he pick a different school. This program has become a joke.
He commented directly on Stoke's post saying "Lets Gooo"
So to be clear we had an assistant coach commit a recruiting violation in a tweet for a guy we didn’t get. Signed Zoom Diallo who played for a year with Stokes, tried to hire his high school coach and hired Mo Williams to be an assistant and STILL couldn’t get Stokes. If that doesn’t sum Pope up I don’t know what does

That sounds like about a 50 point beatdown for Pope and his dopes!
I wonder if we could have gotten Stokes if this was a year ago when Pope had much more support. But the rumors that NIL money is being pulled, combined with Stokes being a "must-get" for Pope's job being on the line.. and we still cant just outright buy ourselves the first big recruit in 3 years.. really says something.

Just shows how far over his head he is here. Just fire him please. He can’t do this and gives 10 new examples why every time a big recruitment happens. Portal or HS.
There are definitely red flags with Stokes, but investing that much time and effort to get him and then coming up empty handed again is just further proof that Pope isn't the guy for this job. We just can't get our first choice with Pope. Always stuck with leftovers.

I’m Pope’s biggest critic, but this is a blessing in disguise. Stokes is a drama queen. Bad locker room guy.

Cooper Flagg is allowed to do this. Anthony Davis is allowed to do this. Not this guy. I’m no hater, but he genuinely doesn’t seem worth the immense hype. He’s definitely a great prospect, but the announcement only proved how immature he is. He doesn’t seem coachable whatsoever. Talent loss but not team chemistry…what little next year’s team would have to begin with.
