I got some sad news today….my mentor Arnold Solomon passed away Sunday. If you loved high school football during the 80s, 90s, and 2000s you knew who Freddie Farkle was. He was the icon of predicting high school football games. He started NCPreps, a website I still continue today.

When Arnold was forecasting games as Freddie Farkle I was forecasting games and writing a column as Slim L. (Mule) Pigskin IV for the Reidsville Review. We would sometimes meet in Chapel Hill at the football championship games and compare notes.
Arnold was a passionate fan of high school football and I always enjoyed talking with him. Since we were the same age, we both had great memories of teams and games going back many decades.
Arnold was truly a legend in our times. He will be missed greatly.

That is a great read. Sometimes we get at each other on here and that takes away from what this site really is about. Something was said to me at a game a couple or 3 yrs ago at ED by Coach Aldridge that made me think about how I posted on here. I have tried since to be more careful how I interacted with people. Freddie Farkel gave us something great. We should take care of it.
