Logan View Public Schools has sent notice to Scribner-Snyder Community Schools that they intend to discontinue participation in their athletic cooperatives at the end of the 2026-27 school year.

In a letter shared by Scribner-Snyder:

Scribner-Snyder Patrons:

Scribner-Snyder Community Schools has received official notice from Logan View Public Schools that they intend to discontinue participation in our shared athletic cooperative agreements at the end of the 2026-27 school year.

It is important for our communities to know that while it is Logan View's prerogative to not participate in cooperative programs, we are disappointed with their decision to end participation as these cooperative programs have long provided meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes to compete and build relationships with peers from a neighboring district.

We are grateful for the advance notice from Logan View, as it gives us time to carefully evaluate next steps. Our administrative team will begin working through potential solutions to ensure our students continue to have access to strong athletic opportunities. This could include establishing independent Trojan teams or exploring new cooperative partnerships.

We recognize that there are still many unknowns, but please be assured that we are committed to keeping our families and community informed as plans develop.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Scribner-Snyder schools and students.

The football cooperative between the two schools ended after the 2025 season. At that time, Logan View officials expressed there was a growing difference in expectations between the two districts as to how the cooperative should function. As a result, questions of representation, control, and influence became more complicated and overshadowed the original purpose of the agreement.

2026-27 will see the final year of the coop, which include the sports of softball, volleyball and boys and girls basketball.

Not sure Scribner-Snyder has a partner other than Logan View.

HD to the West
North Bend to the South
WPB to the North
Oakland Craig to the "North East" would be a stretch.

I don't see any program in that area that would take on that co-op. They are all small enough to be on the bubble but strong enough to want to compete by themselves without the help of Scribner-Snyder. Unfortunate for a very tradition rich school. Pre-consolidation through the 2000s, that place was a consistent competitor in most sports.

0 boys basketball players, 0 girls basketball players, 0 volleyball players went out from Scribner/Snyder. Until that changes all a school is taking on is the enrollment number which pushes LV up a class.

I had read that as well.....the only thing S-S was really providing very recently in the coop was a few coaches. It's sad the opportunity is going away for future S-S kids however. LV probably can drop to C2 without being tied to S-S.

Sounds like a dead school to me
As someone with ties to SS in the past, th situation they are in is sad. It’s a district that’s not going in the positive direction. The should have merged 40 years ago with Dodge and Snyder.

They need to close the school down and let the kids disperse to other area schools. They have burned too many bridges with North Bend, WPB, LV and even Dodge back in the day. SS is not a valuable partner.

The 2 towns combined population is over 1,000 and not a single kid went out for those sports? That's insane.
