Wow, I cannot believe some of your comments. First of all. Gabby is way better than Barker. Secondly her mother is the associate head coach on our team. She might not need any money because a lot of colleges will give money for the child being a legacy child. Thirdly, she is going to work on her FT's. Her mother is the associate head coach on our team. Apparently some of yall did not looked at her film while being a freshman at VA. The girl played a ton of minutes on a veteran team while being a freshman something that Barker, Zubich, BT, etc was not able to do for us this past season. Lastly, when I use the word insurance policy, I mean a player that can come in and make a contribution right away, and if one the starters should go down, she can be inserted into the game and and our team will not miss a beat as a result of a starter going down. Lastly, she her mother is a coach, you know good and blank well her mother and CB are going to tell her what she will need to work on for the upcoming season, and since you guys pointed out her FT shooting needs to improve, you know she is going to work on that. She is a coach's daughter. Come on yall, when has a coach's son or daughter not work on the things their parents who are coaches is telling them to do. That is like saying as a parent, you tell you son or daughter to clean their room and they tell you know. You know she is going to do exactly what her mother and CB will tell her to do. I am surprise some of yall made a statement like that.
Where does her mother coach and what sport? Come on ya'll.

Gabby is playing right now for Nigeria against Minnesota. At the half, she has seven points and four rebounds. I think I greatly under estimated her.
She can definitely handle the ball . Free throws she will need some practice. She plays good defense also

I am sure that her mother and our coaching staff will work with her on this during the offseason. She is a coach's daughter who happens to be the Associate Head Coach on our team.

What is her background that enables her to play for the Nigerian team?
her mom, Joanne Aluka-White, (UNC assistant coach) was born in GA, but has dual Nigerian citizenship because her parents were Nigerian immigrants. She played for Nigeria in the Olympics.

I assume that Gabby either also has dual citizenship through her mom or Nigeria is like many countries where they give anyone with native lineage potential access to certain teams to improve their quality.

Greece pretty famously gave any person with a Greek last name or proven lineage from anywhere a shot on their Olympic teams when they hosted in Athens and thus had a free bid to every sport, including ones they previously had no national team.

That is more experience for Gabby. This is why I am saying that she will be a major contributor next year for our team. We saw how TQ play last year was very significant. She came to UNC a semester early. She played on the Brazilian National Team last summer against three teams from the W. This is huge for confidence, she played against the best women's basketball players in the world which can serve as a measuring stick as far as your skills compare to theirs, etc.
