We’re still in contention for the number one high school kid in the country. The rosters not finished yet. Let’s see how it looks when they are finished recruiting.
Get with the times gramps. That guy is on live streams making fun of Kentucky and the desperation of the staff with his friends. Pope is TRASH. Get over it.

Listen obviously Pope hasn't done well here and I question whether he ever will.........but you have to start somewhere. All coaches didn't put together natty contending teams..........until they did.
This board really needs to get out of this mindset. Just because things haven't happened before, doesn't necessarily mean they won't happen in the future.
The bigger concern to me isn't what Pope did at BYU. Who the hell is going to get BYU to Natty contending status? NO ONE.
It's what he's currently doing on the recruiting trail..........which is a whole lot of nothing.
That should be the concern.

Scary what Cap/ Mitch/ Pope are quickly turning the fan base into! The NIL is clearly not being available for basketball, so I guess they have no choice!

If nothing of starter substance is added, that’s a .500 to sub .500 team, which won’t even get a NIT invite
Pope was never even an assistant under a great program or coach either. During his time as an assistant, he never experienced any wins in the tournament.
I'm as anti pope as they come but he's really onlu had 2 seasons with a shot to do so.

I have been a member of this forum for over 10 years. Had to restart when the board changed a year or so back. There was a time when posts were largely pertaining to basketball but that tide has shifted. Now, posts insult our coach, players, and fellow posters and many are disgusting with the language used. Genuine basketball discussions are few and far between so this “clown”, who is also a Christian, will no longer be participating. Taking your advice Noci! My condolences to the good and thoughtful posters who love UK basketball.

His first team here beat a final four team and the national champions. That's a "contender" in my opinion. When healthy that team could beat anyone. Pope might not work out here but it's crazy how easily people just write off what he accomplished in year one.
1- I doubt there are many “boomers” on this board. Probably a lot of Gen X.
2- no real “fan” would call his supposed team “trash”.
3- if you think that is our Final roster you are stupid. Now maybe it only gets a little better, if so that’s not good! But it could get significantly better.
N’Daiye, Zoom, Moreno, Wilkins is a good base, and Kam and maybe Hawthorne solid contributors. But we do still need “that guy”, maybe 2 of them or at least 1 plus 1-2 more like the first 4 I listed.
It not being significantly better already is a problem and is 100% o trash roster for UK. Facts hurt princess.
I wouldn’t say it’s just boomers. But yeah, complete trash roster. Three of those dudes are essentially walk-ons with regard to their talent level.
People keep saying "he deserves a year 3" and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Because of the buyout I guess?
