I think they said 4-6 weeks from the beginning. I always figured 6 weeks was best case.Boy. Somebody sold somebody a bill of goods back when they were saying 2-4 weeks.
with a healthy Mac pitching game 1, sets up TV against the number 2 where he belongs and Stone against the number 3 where he belongs. Talk about having a stronger Pen with Foster and Pitzer or Billingsly who could throw 4 innings each to set up Davis and Webb.
That One Starter changes our entire staff from iffy to above average.
What hasn't been mentioned is the progress of Bauer. If we get McPherson back great. Imagine if he's back and if Bauer keeps progressing. We will be loaded. However with Bauer going deeper and making sure next year we're stacked we don't have to push McPherson unless we know he's 100% ready.I'm more worried about next season than this one. If he's already having forearm/elbow troubles (it's all related), how long can he hold up next year as well? Dude already had TJ in high school, so it's pretty obvious his throwing motion is violent in some way.
If I was him I'd just take off the rest of the year and maybe even summer. Our staff has a chance to be elite next season in a way we haven't seen in decades if we stay healthy. And we won't even need to push him because our pen will also be elite.
