Anyone catch Stokes on IG Live last night?

Don’t expect a commitment today. Just listening to him talk, he does not want to be in the bright lights. He mentioned people taking random photos of him on airplanes and he tries to hide. Obviously I’m a bit partial, but UK fans are pretty chill around superstars. We got used to Wall, Bam, Fox, Davis, etc. walking around town. Stokes definitely has his own personality, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to be left alone at 18 years old. Unfortunately all of this NIL money is making them big time famous way too early. He said one of the fan bases are gonna hate him and he’ll get death threats.
The IG live was pretty cool listening to him, Jeremy Fears, Coen Carr, and Jase Richardson talk about AAU and USA basketball. Him and 3 MSU guys. Hang in there. He may end up a Spartan for all we know. Be classy, BBN. Tyran, when you read this…AVOID THE TROLLS. They are not one of us.

OP, do you honestly believe that Stokes shuns the spotlight? I’m being serious, you’ve been following his recruitment and everything, right?

Stokes is the most narcissistic, spotlight seeking, attention grabbing, all about me me me recruit, that has ever lived!

Whoever (my $$$ is on Oregon) gets this guy, is going to regret it, before a single game is even played! I can guarantee you that 💯💯

Here's a hot take...If this board bothers him, he's not cut out for big time college basketball. And certainly isn't cut out for the NBA. As talented as he might be, there are others just as skilled and talented that have a killer mindset. You can't be that mentally weak and be a stud.

FTR...not saying he is that weak, just pointing out if you're worth your salt reading this board wouldn't make you do anything but laugh.

The NBA is a marathon grind. Long seasons, lots of games, high expectations and high pressure to produce enough to get that second or third contract. And if you don't produce, the media and the vlogosphere WILL be talking about it in excruciating detail.

The fish bowl in Lexington is tough, but being a full time pro going against the best players in the world is much harder. Stokes likes to self promote, and in this era, it's a strategy if you can back it up.

Some guys like to talk and like to engage. I don't have a problem with it.

Oh hogwash! He's a high-school kid. No 18 year old in the world wouldn't be effected by hundreds, if not thousands of overzealous fans, and some very intentional trolls, bad mouthing them.
BTW, the trolls know this. That's why literally every potential player gets the same "we don't want him" trash talk here.

Stokes is so full of ****. If he's serious about what he's saying, then he's referring to stuff like the UK fan who took that picture of him when he was out to eat on his visit. We do not need that drama boi.

I absolutely get that part. He can troll in a room by himself. I’m talking about all the fanboy stuff when people flock to you on a plane, in a restaurant, in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, it also makes him a liar. I mean for ****'s sake. People who don't want the spotlight don't spend their free time on IG live. That alone makes the narrative ********.

No need to play games that just make him look like a con artist. So he wants the spotlight. He should just own that instead of trying to pretend he's some sort of shy outcast who just wants to play basketball without an audience.

I think the local press in Lawrence isn't quite as hostile as what we have, but yeah. Kansas is also a high profile program with all that that entails. Neither compare to what players contend with to make an NBA roster. This is child's play compared with playing an NBA schedule.

Brother you have to be a KU fan, Lawrence Kansas is top biggest ******** college town in the country not even close to LEXINGTON. Hell Lexington would be like Monte Carlo compared to Lawrence, that is laughable.

If you haven’t watched his videos as random videos when he brings a Kentucky fan on there and then messes with his head.. ole boy knows uk fans this place is tame compared to his personal UK fan interactions. He even kind of made fun of Kentucky yesterday for hiring for trying to hire his high school coach. Basically saying we want him so bad we offered a job to Crawford
