They arrested the peopleFight that escalated up Maxwell. Near Hobies. 1 shot and was taken for medical Care. City/LE better get busy fast.
When I say act fast I’m talking way bigger than arresting these guys. They have work to do on the District on weekend nights. A lotThey arrested the people
That’s the tough part about it. Crime is everywhere but ours is low. However it doesn’t seem like that when a headline comes through. By the way, someone posted on Twitter, I’m trying to find the graphic. But Starkville was the safest SEC townIt's happening everywhere. Not much can be done. Hattiesburg is having the same problems. They tied to crack down on it but it still happens.
I seriously doubt that there were any college kids involved in this "incident"View attachment 1272711
A lot of this is “well is this a college town, or a city that happens to have a college in it”.
That’s exactly my point. College towns where it is really mostly just the college, have way less crime. College Statuon, Oxford, Starkville all fall into this bucket.I seriously doubt that there were any college kids involved in this "incident"
Another example of why Starkville keeps winning the best city in the South.View attachment 1272711

First part of this is trying to use logic to explain it. It's a waste of time. These folks are there ONLY to cause trouble, there's no rhyme or reason to it other than they just want chaos. When these "mobs" show up in the cotton district, where do they park? How are they not towed?
Because I know it isn't easy to find parking there. I know parking cost money and the Starkville tow mafia is always watching.
so where are you parking enforcement and Starkville tow mafia? Make it hard as hell for these people to park on Friday and Saturday.

The Mayor is one of themI love the "hey guys, there are people looking to cause chaos everywhere, so let's not worry about it" crowd.
Saturday night, they were parked almost all the way to downtown. There were tow truck patrolling, but I didn’t see anyone actually getting towed. When these "mobs" show up in the cotton district, where do they park? How are they not towed?

And it almost perfectly lines up with rankings of "most fun SEC towns to travel to."Dead last in the conference. aGAIN.
From S Montgomery west across University is all free parking unless something has changed over the weekend. I park there all the time and ride my bike to games. When these "mobs" show up in the cotton district, where do they park? How are they not towed?

The two arrested for the shooting were from Stark but I think it’s mostly Columbus. But go watch the videos, it Seems like law enforcement just doesn’t care. They just walk around while a civilian rides a horse down the street. Seemingly no interest in loitering laws.I got the impression that it was not students, or even Starkville folks causing the problems.
That comes from the top. I hope business leaders dress down Spruill today. The two arrested for the shooting were from Stark but I think it’s mostly Columbus.
