Most people who have watched Blaze wrestle FS the last couple of years knows that he beats Davino.
Now, Davino beating Jax was a surprise, I agree.
Oh hell, Spencer Lee is still the favorite when they meet at final X. I love Liledahl and PSU but that's a hard way to win 2 out of 3. It's certainly a showdown now. Liledahl has progressed at lightning speed, especially in freestyle but give up on Lee at your on peril.

This!! Luke is one of the very best guys in the world. That is a world semi type of a meeting. Spencer would be my favorite at final X against any opponent in the world. Luke set himself up well, and has a puncher's chance. Spencer Lee is still Spencer Lee and a headlock at the very end of one single match didn't change that. Spencer still has some holes in his game but the things he does well and the power he creates makes him a favorite against anybody at 57kg in a single match. Let us not try retiring Spencer just yet lol.
Ummm no one is going to even mentioned that Stephen Buchanan won the US Open?
Buchanan's ascension has been awesome to watch. He is an incredibly talented and skilled wrestler. Hope he can push Snyder!
Rental of whatever you want to call it. HE is a valuable member of HWC and was never a national champ until he put on a Hawkeye singlet, Great job by a hell of a Hawkeye and a better person.
At least he went to Iowa, unlike Dake and Snyder with PSU.

Buchanan has really thrived in the Iowa room which is great to see. He has a lot in the tool box that translate to freestyle. He did have a relatively easy path to this one but no reason to think he can't make some noise at final x.I think the lack of excitement over his win comes from the testicle kicks that the first few matches were for Hawk fans.
Watching BB chew through McKenna like a wood chipper was probably more depressing than Lee getting tossed.
He could be the biggest alcoholic in the state of Iowa and he’d still be twice the wrestler Voinovich is.
If not for that pesky problem he might have been on the podium...but as it stands he continues to be his own worst enemy.

Maybe. But it’s not like JW was set to tear it up and be a big point scorer at nationals. But if he is not putting in the effort and / or having discipline issues, then he doesn’t get to wrestle. It’s as simple as that. He only has himself to blame.
Agree. With Spencer’s loss in the finals, we are forgetting nobody **** the bed worse than Carr did. MM would have teched him in the first period.
He sounded like he was shocked there is pressure to win and live a good lifestyle at a program like Iowa. Did he think he could take the money and just jack off and get awarded the starting spot?? He doesn’t know TnT very well.

Youngblut has a year of HS left and lost to a couple guys with a full D1 season under their belt. And who are hardly slouches. Not a big deal.
To say our recruits have had an underwhelming weekend would be an understatement. I thought Kenny could win 61kg and he didn’t even place losing to an Iowa state back up and a Cal poly commit who’s ranked 19th in the country. I’m high on Kenny but was a rough weekend.
Important to note freestyle to folkstyle is not a 1:1.

Did I miss Kenny wrestling at seniors? Melvin wrestled a whole tournament. I’m not saying Kenny isn’t good, I’m actually very high on him but his performance this weekend was underwhelming. We don’t need to have an excuse or defend every bad performance, sometimes guys just don’t come out ready to go. I believe this was Kenny’s first year at U20’s so not the end of the world but doesn’t change the fact it was a bad tournament for him
