I remember when I started school at state in 1980 everybody relaxed when LSU came to town because they were among the worst SEC programs we played. Stayed that way until Skip came to town. Now we talk about playing tight because of the name on the jersey. Sheesh.

We should win this series and maybe should sweep. But we’ve been their slump buster more times than I can count so I hope we come locked in a prepared to play.
Their at large NCAAT chances are not totally dead just yet so you may get one last surge from them that you have to fight off.

I also get tired of hearing that there’s too much pressure to win at the Dude because of so much fan attendance/support. Like, what? What are we supposed to do, not show this weekend?
Imagine if we rolled into Bryant Denny or Tiger Stadium in the fall, beat them, and then their media/fan’s narrative became “well there were too many of our fans there supporting and cheering for the team, it was too much pressure to win”. We’re the only fan base that would ever twist ourselves in a pretzel to come up with a theory like that. Softest argument I’ve ever heard in my entire life

Sweep says we are back and ready to challenge for a championship. Win two and we feel good about future. Lose two and we get on the Lebby bandwagon. Views from a 71 year old State fan.
